Would the steel of the Godhead on Geist of Saint Traft make him a 4/4 Unblockable with lifelink?

All this talk of great commanders makes me wish my EDH deck didn't suck as much. I've been holding out for a local store to have Sen Triplets, because I've already got a some good W/U/B cards (hehe). Also, last Wednesday I was playing a guy who acted almost exactly like Alex in Friday Nights. He just could not comprehend why I didn't have a Primeval Titan and Kiki-Jiki in my deck even when I told him I was broke. He also suggested that I run a Jace, the Mind Sculptor as well...even though the deck is B/G/R.

My local game store has several Sen Triplets, lol.
I'm in the process of making a new Commander deck around Sedris, the Traitor King. I've already got one for Rafiq of the Many, and Sen Triplets.

The real annoying thing is, the store I usually buy my cards from sold the last one they had to a friend of mine. And I don't have anything that he'd be willing to trade it for. Anyways, I honestly think I better at playing/making standard decks anyways. Making a 100 card deck using any expansion tends to cripple me with indecision.

Hoi, I need some ideas on a deck I've been tinkering with! Green/Red Werewolf deck called "Cry Havoc" (as in "Cry havoc, and let slip the dogs of war!")
Trying to keep it entirely within Innistrad and Dark Ascension for the moment.
10 Forest
10 Mountain
3 Kessig Recluse
1 Dawntreader Elk
1 Wolfbitten Captive
1 Caravan Vigil
3 Crushing Vines
4 Moonmist
1 Wrack with Madness
1 Avacyn's Collar
1 Immerwolf
1 Huntmaster of the Fells
4 Young Wolf
2 Darkthicket Wolf
1 Silver-Inlaid Dagger
1 Grizzled Outcasts
1 Feral Ridgewolf
1 Full Moon's Rise
4 Scorned Villager
1 Mayor of Avabruck
1 Briarpack Alpha
1 Naturalize
1 Burning Oil
3 Hunger of the Howlpack
1 Villagers of Estwald
1 Spidery Grasp
1 Traitorous Blood
I play fairly casually, and it's been working out fairly well for the most part, but I could still use some advice. I haven't actively played in a long time so I'm a bit rusty with deck building

Bah! you guys have convinced me to get MTGO. Not sure if I'm going to do anything but trial games, but I'm going to install and play with it anyway.
..whether I put any money into it depends on whether K actually wants to play with paper, or if she just plays to humor me.

Hmm, just installed the MTGO client (Win7, 2GB RAM, 1.6Ghz dual-core, DX9.0c installed), and renamer.exe starts just fine, and fixer.exe starts, but the client never actually starts. I've tried compatibility mode and chosen "repair" in the launcher; and I restarted just in case, but I can't get the game to start up. (Also running MS Security Essentials for AV; it didn't twig on any of the installation).
Any ideas?

I bought some boosters after work today and was getting nothing good out of them (I think the best thing I got was a Helvault)... then my sister asked if she could open one, and she pulls a Snapcaster. She opens another and gets a Bloodline Keeper.
I'm thinking next time I'll have her open all my boosters for me.

With Avacyn restored like, 4 days away? (Well, pre-release at least.) just Pre-Order a box of Avacyn, you get a chance at all the new high cost money cards, as well as new cards adn teh promo paladin, and let's face it, that paladin looks like he's going to be broken as balls. Why not have rainbow art of him

I agree, the angel breaks out in 4 days, but don't preorder a box get a case just to be safe.

At least not until you see if there's a $50+ dollar card in AVR. In which case, go for it, you're guaranteed at least 10!

Thank you Mr Freud
Edit: I suppose if you really wanted a cast-iron sure-fire way of getting all the rare and most valuable cards you could buy a complete set, or even four complete sets to give you a full range of deck options. That would set you back a shade under £1000 so it's just possible you may not come out ahead, but still...

So what you're saying is, if you want all the cards, buy all the cards?
That's helpful

Re: Magic: The Gathering: Whatcha mean, there's no thread ye
Now that the whole set's been revealed we can start guess which cards will be worth the most. It was fairly obvious from early on from the story and the cards they chose to reveal first that white was probably going to be the strongest colour, but green's gotten some ridonkulous cards too. All through Innistrad and Dark Ascension I felt the artifacts were pretty meh, but the artifacts in the new set are pretty damn good.
As an aside, a friend of mine wants to make either an Archenemy or EDH deck using only cards from the Un-sets. Bad idea, or best idea ever?

Re: Magic: The Gathering: Whatcha mean, there's no thread ye
So I decided to introduce my brother to MTG today, letting him use a few of my decks. He got to grips with it pretty quick and it seems like something we'll do together a lot more often
. . . that said.
You know when you get a card that just fucks up shit left, right and centre and you feel like a fucking God then you're opponent gets one next game and you feel it's wrath and that it's even worse when it's your deck?
Long story short, Aegis Angel can huff a dong

Re: Magic: The Gathering: Whatcha mean, there's no thread ye
I'm foreseeing a lot of such hatred for Miracle cards.
For example, my Goblin deck can down someone in ~4 turns if it's running well, maybe 3 with some of the new AR cards and very good draw. But if Terminus is drawn, it is 1 mana to completely erase my field of my primary resource with an effect otherwise marketed for turn 6.
If Miracle becomes too prevalent (not likely, one set using it), it would potentially be worse than Phyrexian mana for balancing issues.

Is it just me, or is MTGO's 'Netdeck' cloud storage for decks... almost completely unusable?

I went to a avacyn prerelease 6 booster sealed. I got a Grisalbrand, but only two other black so I couldn't justify playing him.
One guy got all 4 big angels but lost 2 of his games.
The helvault was a joke. a stack of 4/4 angel tokens, a stack of 5/5 demon tokens. a bag of Grey D-20's and Oversized commander size cards of Avacyn, Grisalbrand and the three angels. I wasn't expecting it to be like a stack of foil avacyns or anything but come on. Tokens dice and promotional cards?

Miracle came into play a couple times at the prerelease but they just dont come up that often. Think about it, how many turns do your games go, 5-8ish. In commander they will happen more but the effect while unexpected, which is its intent, wont destroy games.
When one came out and got played as a miracle both player and target seemed to get a thrill out of it because it was SO unexpected. Im sure the guy like alex's CH character in your local games will go crazy about it but the majority of players loved the change.
Also Soulbound was a hit. Especially if you could bind two together so like a guy gets first strike and flying, or Double strike and intimidate. People were scrapping decks and rebuilding around whatever soulbound they had after round one.

Re: Magic: The Gathering: Whatcha mean, there's no thread ye
I only played one soulbond and two miracle cards and went 3-2. Can't remember if any of my losses were because of them. I was playing a blue-white flicker and bounce deck, which after figuring out how to play it, worked really well for me.
