I used to be big into the silicon based lube but I quickly phased it out for a good quality water based one (which I forget the name off the top of my head) for regular bedroom purposes. The silicon based one was just too much of a chore, especially when it came to spillages and accidents or just trying to turn a goddamn door nob. The water ones have been getting better and better.

That being said, I keep a small bottle of silicon for those "extra strength" situations and for fun in the shower.

I think with vaginal intercourse, the suggestion of lube for women can make you insecure. You know how not getting it up is said to make you feel less like a man? Well, if you use lube for vaginal intercourse, then surely it means you're "not wet enough" and so you're being inadequate as a woman.

That fact is that women produce different amounts of wetness, and even the same one can produce more or less from one time to the next. Then it dries up and we don,t have an infinite supply, so if it lasts a while we need help. And for some sizes we need help too. But as much as we intelectualise it and know there is nothing wrong about it, it's quite possible that the first instinct remains "No. I don't need that." (or, "I don't want to need that") because even if the suggestion doesn't make you feel inadequate, you might still have the feel that it "shouldn't be necessary" so that it isn't.
