Re: Pocket Planes
Is Graham's voice more sonorous than usual, or does it just seem that way coming out of a tiny pixelated man with a mustache?

Re: Pocket Planes
It did seem deeper and more mellifluous, as in the type of dignified gentleman who would travel with a rare vaase to Shanghai.

Re: Pocket Planes
After watching it a few more times, I've begun to like it a bit better. Still not perfect. But I think that Paul was right in saying to go all-in on the Pocket Planes aspect. Mostly because the things that were likely little jokes towards the game itself (the coins in the sky, the vase ending up in the entirely wrong place, etc) just worked on their own as well. Though many who haven't played the game likely wouldn't appreciate it as much.
But I really like the animation for this after watching over. The small, almost unnoticable aspects in the sprites to signify things worked very well, such as the slight darkening above the eyes to signify brow furrowing. I think those aspects helped make the entire video much better. Though I am curious how long it took to make it.

I was definitely doing "a voice" for the character.

Re: Pocket Planes

That explains the mustache.
Even as someone who has never played the game, this was simply hilarious. Great job, fantastic animation.

Could Graham please use that voice in all your videos? It's just so pleasant.

Re: Pocket Planes
After trying to explain to my wife why this thread is hilarious and the origins of "Ron Dewing" I will admit that all I've really managed to accomplish is that she now thinks I'm an even bigger dork and that I'm dewing my puns all wrong and that I should take care not to foul out completely.

Re: Pocket Planes
Graham saying "what about my vase?" should not be as funny as it is. I didn't get a lot of it because I haven't played Pocket Planes, but it was really, really well done.

I actually really enjoyed this video and I'm very much glad you guys when all out. I however know nothing about Pocket Planes so a few jokes probably went over my head.

Re: Pocket Planes
So with the announcement of the official videos for Nimblebit, does that mean that the Pocket Planes shorts will be the first platform exclusive content you've ever produced? Obviously as an Android user I've never played Pocket Planes, but at the same time, I enjoyed the video enough that I would like to see future installments, and I won't be able to if I need an iOS device to do so.

Actually, PP exists on Android now, as of like a week ago or something. It's actually kinda fun!
I get a couple more jokes in the video now!

Re: Pocket Planes
Wow, my timing is phenomenal. Mobage published PP on Android the day *after* I asked the question.

Re: Pocket Planes
You're just THAT influential - merely mentioning the exclusivity drove Mobage to pull an all-nighter to port it over.
Nonetheless, thank you for bringing the issue to their attention, and thus entertaining scads of Android users!
