Holy crap- I'm an Omeganaut!
Holy crap- I'm an Omeganaut!
I just got a call from Gabe, and am now freaking out. I hope it doesn't overlap with LRR stuff... PAX cannot come soon enough!

Shouldn't this go in the Gaming board?

One of the contestants in the Omegathon at PAX. You play a different game for each round, with people eliminated along the way. There's one winner. All rounds but the last are known, but the final round is always a mystery. Two years ago it was a claw machine. Last year it was Zelda (whoever could get to the thing first, with a partner they chose from already eliminated Omeganauts guiding them through a walkthrough). It's pretty neat. You win some awesome stuff, too.

PAX East it was the most intense game of Crokinole I've ever seen.

I am willing to bet that was the largest crowd a crokinole game has ever had. I was on the edge of the sliver of floorspace I was allotted the whole time.

That's awesome! Plus you will be in the wonderful, capable hands of our lovely friend Angela, who largely runs the Omegathon. So exciting!!!

If you want to move it, that's fine- I was in an excited rush when I made the thread.
Thanks for the kind words, everyone- most of my group are first time PAXers, so the overwhelming reaction to the news has been 'Omega-what now?' Although the one who does know what it is is excited.

If you dont wear a LRR shirt or button, and have a bump in the night somewhere visible on your body during all games. You're doing it wrong.
Good luck!

I volunteer to be your grizzled coach, doing weeks on intense training, punching sides of beef and pulling sleds up snowy mountains. Also playing games I guess.

Re: Holy crap- I'm an Omeganaut!
How would the grizzled coach punching sides of beef or pulling sleds up snowy mountains help DuelLadyS win the Omegathon?

Me too, and yes, it should.
Congrats, though!

Thanks for the reminder- I have 2 LRR shirts I was planning on wearing, but I've had the Bumps set aside for so long I forgot about them!

Oh, trust me- I'm now paranoid I'll botch round 1 so bad I can't show my face at the LRR meetup. *crosses fingers*

I think you're supposed to wear an Omeganaut shirt. That said, accessories should be fine.
