I set it to my timezone, but that's not that important.

You should be able to add your birthday to this calendar, but unless I missed something you will have to enter it every year.
All problems can be solved by trebuchets and/or fire.

What I did was "Repeat every 12 months on these dates" and set the number to my birthday. So it's recurring for a few years.
