Human Elementalist.
Norn Guardian.
Human Thief.

MIGHT try Mesmer. Eventually. When I've milked the other three and need something new.

I've given into my inner altoholic and planned out a Human Engineer, a Norn Elementalist, a Charr Guardian, a Sylvari Necromancer, a Norn Ranger, a Human Mesmer, an Asura Warrior, and a Charr Thief. Basically, since I got very little beta time in, I will play a bit on each of them to actually get a feel for whichever I want as my 'main', although the rest will probably still see reasonable amounts of play.

You know you have to pay to get more than 4 character slots, right?

Yeah, I know (although I thought it was 5), but I'll probably just suck it up anyways. It's a disease, etc.

I don't know the prices. Haven't looked, because I don't plan on using microtransactions, personally.

I'm almost certain it's 5 slots because I had my three and 2 slots to spare. Mesmer will be taking one up, no idea what will be my fifth.

And I'll be buying extra character slots/bank space with gold! And I THINK a character slot is 800 gems.

I shudder to think how much money I'll spend on slots.
I bought a few in GW1. Hopefully this will be the only microtransactions I'll do.

....I have more characters then I care to admit to already. I plan on buying more slots on the first day of the headstart. That being said though, I'll likely kick off with either my human thief or elementalist. I just want them all made so I can save the names.

Oh, I'm also going to be playing on the Piken Square server now.

US or EU?

I'll likely make 1 of each class and main swap a lot.

Mesmer is still on the cards if they ensure the mechanics around clones actually work. Staff Mesmer was fun, but only in a group scenario. 2her sword pewpew lasers of understanding was fun too, but feels slightly under par in questing.

I'll probably PvP level with my Guardian as I enjoy support in PvP. Also the Guardians get a wall with one weapon option. Walls are always fun in PvP.

I hope they have made all quests mechanically scaleable. It was an awful experience being unable to quest on one Human quest where all mobs died before your projectile tagged them. I know this is to expect with an influx of players, but 85% of the other quests ran fine with 576385639659 players running around. Besides, the problem is 10 years old. You'd think there would be a solution to it rather than the game team whistling and ignoring it, and the playerbase preying for C'thulu to siphon the blood from every other living human in the world.

I can't wait to see the surprise on other player's faces to see a succesful ranged warrior.

I might go 2her sword on Ranger to be a melee huntard.

It's actually an EU one this time :) It's the "unofficial EU RP server".

Ok. I decided I'm going Fire/Arcane just for larger area attacks, faster elemental switching, longer lasting fire fields for the sake of synchronism with melee and raw damage!

I've been playing Aion (now f2p). You have no idea how it makes me excited for GW2. Aion feels like one of those Asian F2P MMOs like the Forsaken World w/e. The old MMO I hope will die in fire, it's an awful game model. No wonder people kept sulking back to WoW when SWTOR and WAR and Rift etc were released. At least WoW's monotony was 'home' and comforting.

I tried with Aion. I *really* tried. I just couldn't seem to get into it...

Still! After yesterdays stress test I've concluded that a thief with sword/dagger & dual pistols is kinda awesome. It's just a matter of getting the timing of some of the usage down.

Also ... another stress test today! "We will be conducting a Stress Test on Friday, August 10 from 4:00 PM PACIFIC Time to 8:00 PM PACIFIC Time.". Looks like they're going all out to make sure things don't go to shit on d-day.

I've learned my skills better so I've learned to switch my elements better. Air, knock them back, ice, freeze them to the ground, earth, cripple them, fire, rain down meteors upon them!

I soloed a level 10 elite group boss last night in the stress test with just tactics.

There will be a new stress test tonight. Midnight-4am GMT.

I like how the Thief's 3rd skill is based upon the combination of MH and OH. That's very unique and add a flavour.

I also went on a plug-in-free site in work the other day to browse skills and the amount of Engineer skills was stupid. Very tempted to roll one.

I also had an idea of how fairly Arenanet could give additional character slots, what you needed for no cost. I thought that every time you got a character to maximum level in PvE you should get an extra character slot for free, up to when you have a total of 8 (including the first 5). If you want more slots earlier you can buy them. If you want more than 8 you can buy them.

I just think it's a little mean to only give you enough slots for half the classes. In the original game you got 4 slots. Yes there were 6 classes but you could combo the classes so you technically had 1/2 3/4 and 5/6 and one float for a PvP character. The only thing that was different was that you would lack the core-skill and aesthetics.

Aye, I like that they've made the thief profession a lot more durable for Guild Wars 2. It's just a matter of getting the timing of certain skills down. I still need to give my engineer a proper play through. I don't think I've played him enough to get a proper verdict on the profession yet.

As for the character slots thing, to be fair they do have to make money somehow. If people could make a character for each profession straight off the bat they'd lose the one source of potential income. It can be annoying, yes, but from their point of view it makes sense to limit it to five.

I'm one of the people that maybe one day could be possibly be buying a character slot. But by the time that comes, they might just give more character slots through their expansions like in GW 1.
