Re: Doctor Who
So does this mean the daleks remember Amy and Rory but not the Doctor?

Re: Doctor Who
None lived to remember them in honesty. Essentially, they're all anonymous to them. Any Dalek that met Amy or Rory got killed by: Uber New Smarties Daleks or Riversong
And I liked confidential because on the first and last episodes of a series they teased a lot about future plot developments. Granted I never watched it live as it was mostly boring, but it was entertaining in iPlayer.

Re: Doctor Who
There are a bunch of short behind the scenes clips on the BBC DW website which they've started doing as an alternative to Confidential. Apparently they had to cut it due to budget issues, but due to fan (and various other involved bods including Neil Gaiman) backlash, they continued with some behind the scenes looks.

Re: Doctor Who
It's not as interesting :z
It'll just be the 'behind the scenes' bits which made the show boring.
Woo directing. Woo camera work. Woo prop design.

Re: Doctor Who
Just watched the episode. Very good, interesting double twist. Final lines from the daleks certainly setup what seems to big the big theme of the series.
totally didn't get the eggsstirmilkbake thing till I saw it written down XD it's such a typical Moffat joke.
also, regarding Jenna-Louise Coleman - Karen Gillan, Catherine Tate and Freema Agyeman all appeared as minor or one-off characters before being cast (or even considered for casting) as companion. Although the proximity of this episode to her taking on the companion role does perhaps mean something big.

Re: Doctor Who
Holy crap, that was an excellent episode. I was expecting to dislike it, because Dalek episodes are usually done terribly! But this was excellent!
I totally didn't get the eggs-stir-milk-bake until you said it, PlasmaCow.
I also didn't realize Jenna-Louise Coleman was the person in this episode! Great! I really liked her. I think she'll be a better companion than Amy even. She's clever and witty. I loved the verbal sparring. Reminded me of Nine's best episodes.
Don't know how they're going to get her out of the Dalek (timey-wimey, I'm sure) but I guess we'll see!
I personally think it was one of the best episodes of the new series!
Amy's still an arse, though. Doesn't deserve Rory. Though the way the Doctor got them back together... so perfect. Perfect!
Next episode's just going to be silly fun, I think.

Re: Doctor Who
I thought the episode was ok, but it was nothing new,
[notspoiler]
Rory and Amy dont express themselves very well, the doctor makes them express themselves.
a female companion is pineing for the doctor but he isn't her man. and there were some daleks.
[/notspoiler]
I did like the egg joke.

Re: Doctor Who
Is it too much to ask for a companion that didn't want to stick their tongue down the doctor's throat?
Oh Donna Noble. What happened to her? Oh
Hopefully the next one will be.
That's the only thing I dislike about Amy is that she's a little bit of a pimp and it annoys me.

Re: Doctor Who
I got the eggs stir milk bake thing as soon as Rory mistook the Dalek's hesitant, broken speech for a request for eggs.

Re: Doctor Who
That was in one of the Doctor Who yearbooks. Seven and Ace arrived on a cargo ship and there was a man who kept on mumbling "eggs... stir..." and it got worse and worse until our friends arrived
I suppose that's where the idea came from.

Jenelmo wrote:The weird thing is that The girl in the Dalek is called Oswin Oswald, but the new/next companion who is played by the same girl was to be called Clara Oswin. The question is what happened, did they change the name, is it two different girls or is it the same girl with two names like Amelia/Amy
Only time will tell
See, that would be weird, because she'll just be showing up in like 5 episodes (or at least thats what I'm assuming since the Ponds are leaving halfway through the season) so there won't be a season buffer for people to sort of forget. Plus she was a pretty important part of the episode. I hope she shows back up as who she was because I kinda liked her.
In all, I did like the episode, wasn't anything too amazing, but definitely gets me excited for the new season!

Re: Doctor Who
Yes, actors that play companions have played small parts in Doctor Who before they became companions. They did not, however, play the big fourth character of an episode, 5 episodes before they became the Doctor's companion and tell us, the audience, straight too the camera to "Remember me". Oswin is going to be connected to the new companion in some way. I really hope she is going to be this character, because I love her. She isn't impressed by the doctor and might even be smarter then him in some respects. Besides, her body was still intact inside the Dalek, so escape doesn't seem impossible. If someone can do it, its the genius

Yes and no. What we saw throughout the episode was her own imaginary escape pod, as part of her trying to rationalise her conversion into a dalek, she created a fantasy prison/dreamworld - I imagine that physically she had been changed into a squid-brain kaled just like all other daleks are.
It'll be interesting to see how they tackle this come christmas at any rate.
