I was having a glitch earlier too. There was some sort of content update and now it's fixed. Not sure if it's related to you guys, since I'm pretty sure mine was from some sort of Mystery Part bug that happens on Android.

I saw that we were #11 in the world for the Ottawa event and went cause I thought we could get in the top ten.

Then I noticed that #10 is over 2,000 jobs ahead of us and that changed it to a

So I'm about to buy my second 10M airport. Should I close my other lower population airports after I buy it? It seems to me that I could have my planes just fly between the two and I'd make more money.

I've closed all non-blue-city airports now, and it looks like I'll be closing some of the blue cities soon too, as I'm at the max number of airports. Right now I'm all up and down the East Coast of the Americas, but once I start getting the PearJets next level I'll have to sell a good many of them to switch my operations to trans-atlantic flights.

My last set of passengers landed with less than a minute to go in Ottawa. I was up to #11 in the group briefly, but it looks like I finished #15, which I'm happy enough with. Beats being #40 like I was last time.

I just missed delivering 50 to Ottawa (I owned it already), so I didn't get a blimp...

Oh well. I'm still doing the slow-growing thing... Own airports from Anchorage to Bergen, though I've sold most of my central Canadian airports, shuttling things through Phoenix, Dallas, and Detroit. Also heading south to Guatemala, and hope to get further.

Seriously... I totally bought DC just for the event and have been flying things all around the Eastern Seaboard, from Goose Bay to Miami, and I've gotten a total of like 6 event things so far.

I have a theory about this phenomenon. I think that the available passengers are not randomly generated - the game weights them towards runs you're using. So if you complete a lot of flights to, say, Paris you will have more passengers waiting to go to Paris than otherwise. The upshot of this is that when you buy a new city it takes some time for it to get some traction. Once the game realizes that you want passengers headed to DC more of them will appear. In general I find that for these events I have only six or seven passengers in the first day and by the third day I have ten passengers every four hours or so. Just enough to get the 50 needed to win a prize.

FYI, my wife and I have recently joined SKY CHAIRS. Nagasaki is going to be tough since I started in Phoenix, but I'm working my way over there and I think I'll be able to get in 40 deliveries by the deadline. It looks like we're not going to hit Top 100 this time. Presumably a lot of the Asian teams started in Asia and have a decided advantage similar to how SKY CHAIRS kicked booty in the San Diego challenge.

The bitizens that want to buy tickets Nagasaki to Los Angeles sure are rich SOBs. ecocd Airlines - proudly serving the top 1 percent for nearly a month.

I pretty much only play occasionally now, for a few minutes at a time when I've got nothing else to do.

By the way I'm level 29 now.

They really need to scale event rewards by level... the rewards aren't really worth it anymore. :/

Pocket Planes has been my reprieve from boredom while I'm waiting for samples to run through the HPLC.

I'd play still if I could get the app to work. It's constantly stuck on "Initializing..." Reboots, reinstalls, changing from WiFi to 4G and back, etc. Nothing seems to work.

Last week I bought a samsung tab and yesterday found pocket planes. An enjoyable game but the fact that the blimp is that rare makes me sad...
it took a while to join the sky chairs due to android version being buggy with text input but I am now a part of the glorious empire.
