Re: LRRCraft presents: LRR Dedicated TF2 Server
Ick, I just tried playing a couple rounds tonight. Super out of practice. Even as scout and sniper, which are arguably my best classes, I wasn't contributing anything.
Clearly I need to play more!

Usage of the server was minimal, constantly rebooting it was a pain, and I didn't play on it myself anymore. I'm fine spending money if I get a return on my investment, the return here being a sense of enjoyment from the playerbase.
Minecraft and TF2 have shown to not have the necessary demand to warrant full-time dedicated servers. We'll see about future games.

Sorry, I didn't mean to make you out to be heartless and money-grabbing or anything. I meant to say I understand that there is a significant financial and time commitment required to run a server, and I support your decision to take it down.
It wasn't intended as a criticism and I apologise if it seemed that way. I respect you and I appreciate what you've done for us all this time.

So my sleeping pattern has been fucked, I've been in and out of hospital (got more appointments this week) and I'm going to take a stab in the dark: Should we try to get a game going Saturday? No promises that I can actually join but hey! I might surprise even myself!

I'll see what I can do but I'll be up north this weekend.
I'm Ignorant, God...
Sorry I can't do that, it violates my three laws of robotics.

I can probably pop in for a bit then if we're just playing a regular game, although I might not be around long enough if people want to play MvM.

Are the potential challengers nothing but soldiers, medics and heavies? Typical of most tournament teams.

Details to be worked out if we actually decide to do it, so odds are you would be able to make it, by design.
Also, if people could post their thoughts on the matter inside the actual group discussion, that'd really help centralise everything.

The only time I'm conceivably free in the near future is next weekend (20/21) so if you'd like to see me at all (potentially ever again, given my courseload) schedule something then.
... Please? I miss yous guys.

Re: LRRCraft presents: LRR Dedicated TF2 Server
So tonight was brief. Yet fun. And Jammy totally shut down my team's best players as a pyro. (So he just fucked me and Lying while the other 6 people on our team kept shooting each other looking for a spy that wasn't there.)

My favourite part was that time I set you on fire.
Oh wait, that was about half the game.
I'll try to get a microphone set up for next time so you can hear my delighted laughter everytime I kill one of you. Or get anyone with the mailbox.

I love TF2 so if I can get into the server and group, I'm game.

Re: LRRCraft presents: LRR Dedicated TF2 Server
Alright, I've got a lecture to jet to in a couple minutes, so I'll keep this brief for now and embellish later.
Basically, the first time I saw the Mann vs Machine trailer, the same thought has run through my head as every single time MvM passes into it. That is remaking the trailer, but replacing the characters with LRRcraft crewmembers.
So instead of opening on the Heavy, it opens on, say, an Engineer with the googly gazer and a teddy bearest. After surveying the oncoming storm, he wanders past the Scout (Beta), same as before, and the pair pass a brass beast Heavy (Gunner) en route to the empty saloon.
Inside the saloon, a Demoman and a Pyro, the demo chugging from his whiskey bottle as they seemingly play Go Fish. The Engineer handles his southern hospitality for a moment, before tossing a fez over to the demo, who de-disguises into a Spy (Kobra)...and momentarily gets set on fire by the Pyro (Ubergine), who gives him a thumbs up when he decloaks.
And then there's the noble march together to the front line, joined on the way by a Sniper (Warmonkey).
The Spy brandishes his YER and gestures to the Engineer. "Shall we, labourer?"
The Engineer reaches behind his teddy and pulls out a wrangler. "Let's do this Texas style."
The Spy vanishes, a red beam traces the terrain from a distant sentry, and all about charge onwards into the fray.
Barring the odd prop-hunt and perhaps a slight bit of location scouting, I think this sort of revision could be done inside of the Source Film Maker.
