My new Macbook Air is pretty win. I still a little unnerved by how thin it is.
We are all made of star dust. However we are also made of nuclear waste.

Re: The thread of win
I think I just made the most hilariously evil 1500pt necron list to ever grace the nazi zombie robots minds.
Basically, the army that is based entirely on shooting your things, on turn one just appears 6" away from your front lines, and goes "EVERYTHING DIES ON A 2+ BITCHES! FLAMERS ERRY WHERE!"

Ssssh the Dice might hear you. You will now roll 1s on all to hits, to wounds, armour saves, Necron resurrection rolls and the scatter dice will send you right off the table.

Re: The thread of win
Seriously dude. 3 squads of deathmarks, 2 veils of darkness, and vanguard obyron and zahndrehk.
Rules as written, every time I deep strike, i get to name a new unit to target to be wounded on a 2+ by my deathmarks. Deploy, nominate 3. Teleport, nominate another 3. that's turn 1, 6 units being hit on 2+, wounded on 4's. Res orbs in all the squads and gauntlets of fire errywhere.
Also, the veil crypteks, have str 8 templates. that roll to hit against leadership, except now they hit on a 2+ no matter what.
That's a template that is basically 2+/2+ dead. No armour, generally no feel no pain.
HELLO PLAGUE MARINES! NICE TO SEE YOU AGAIN!

Re: The thread of win
Actually, last time I used Deathmarks, that happened.
It's like "I need 3's to hit and 2's to wound! 20 shots kgo!"
I then rolled like, 14 hits, and 2 wounds.

As far as I can tell I just purchased Persona 4 Golden 11 days before it's official release due to a stocking error at Elephant's Butt. Go me!

Re: The thread of win
So a few weeks back I wrote an Organic Chem midterm. There was a bonus question about axial/equatorial bonding in air vs. water.
I didn't know the answer and I was waiting for a friend of mine to finish (so we could hang out after) so I wrote "I don't know but I'm going to draw some stuff for you until the exam is over." I managed to draw a giraffe and a tree before seeing my friend get up to turn in his exam.
Today I got to look over my midterm. On the bonus question, I found written:
As someone who adores puns and appreciates a fellow pun-lover, this made my day.

"Hmmm, Guilermo Del Torro has a new movie."
*Starts watching trailer*
"Ok, kinda creepy.
HOLY DEAR FUCKBALLS OH GOD DEAR GOD JESUS FUCK HOLY BALLS"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-ngqwc7gmI
That trailer scares me more than 99% of all horror movies do, combined.

Re: The thread of win
Okay, I had a 'nature is pretty awesome' day; went for a stroll with zyxst, and we wandered through the sunny but cold and windy weather to a friend's house, caught up with her for a while, and got caught in a brief rain shower on the walk back. As the rain cleared, we turned a corner and were treated to a very bright and distinct 1/3 of a rainbow! As we made our way down the street, we could see the squall moving by how the rainbow changed (widened and the top half of the arc started to flicker and fade away).
After we got home and warmed up for a little with some lunch, there was a sudden shower of hail outside - only lasted about 30 seconds.
And then as we borrowed my folks' car later to get some takeout, there was also another REALLY HEAVY passing rain shower...as in you could watch the edge of it approach!
Really cool stuff today...

Re: The thread of win
I realized something yesterday. Not only can I, as an adult with with the occasional disposable income, buy LEGOs whenever I damn well please, but I can buy the individual minifigs off of eBay. Deadpool and Hawkeye are already on their way. Three more minifigs and I've got all of the Marvel superheroes.
This is one of those times where I love being an adult.

I got 88% on a report I struggled to write between three midterms and a lab exam in the same week. A report I submitted a day late at a 5% penalty.
Eighty-eight percent.
It's taking all the self control I have not to squee right now! I've been worried about my two research courses and it turns out I'm doing well in at least one of them! This is the harder one too!
There's hope for me yet!
Eighty-eight percent.

On Friday night I got to see Leonard Cohen in concert. It was one of the best performances I've ever seen. And I got into his music after hearing a "Hallelujah" cover during Desert Bus a couple of years ago, so thanks to LRR for planting that seed.
