I have a few good ideas, but I can no longer do them since I couldn't chip in sadly. I know I don't have to pay. But I'd feeel like an ass if I didn't.

Re: Unofficial Desert Bus Challenges Conversation Thread OF
So it turns out I missed my challenges: Anyone know when they danced to Die Antwoord or Crabcore?
I assume the approximate hour will do as long as Twitch still uploads.

Do they normally show all the entries for contests? I somehow doubt it, otherwise it'd be too huge. But I've sent a few things to contest without it being shown. I just want to be sure I'm not sending it to the wrong place or something. Best to be sure I just suck.

I was under the impression that they usually post everything, but I've only submitted something once (last year), so I don't know for sure. They're supposed to go to either contest or [email protected] (both work.)

I think I've been sending it to [email protected]. So that just means I suck. Huzzah!
EDIT: Yup. I've been sending them to the right place. My Cam card was up there.

both "contest" or "contests" work for entries, the key thing is to use the right subject line in the email.
Re: Unofficial Desert Bus Challenges Conversation Thread OF
Is there some kind of repository for the gifs and things the chat is making? I can't be in the chat most of the time and I'm worried I'm missing cool stuff.
EDIT: Found what I was looking for.

Re: Unofficial Desert Bus Challenges Conversation Thread OF
I totally missed out on the original Matt Frump Face challenge, but I still made a few entries & posted them in the relevant thread in the forums.
I have a few challenges for them submitted but they've been purged three times without being drawn so I'll have to keep at it.
EDIT:
Graham just did a dramatic reading of my journal entry!! I am ecstatic.

Re: Unofficial Desert Bus Challenges Conversation Thread OF
How do the big crowd-sourced challenges work?
I wrote out the script with stage notes for the Hiimdaisy Persona 4 parody and I'd really like the crew to perform some / all of the scenes.
I'd personally donate a lot if they'd do it, and I submitted it as a challenge, but I'm curious how I would go about trying to rope other people in and make it more likely they'd do it.
edit: I'd donate $50 per scene / minute of the video. $1500 if they do the whole thing.

I think it might help if you put how much you promise to donate right there along with your challenge description.

Re: Unofficial Desert Bus Challenges Conversation Thread OF
Just for fun, here are the challenges I've submitted so far:
- EVIL JIM'S NEW PANTS -- I will donate if Graham does a dramatic reading of one of my recent journal entries. Don't worry, it's short! It's on Google+ & viewable to the public here COMPLETED
5 MINUTES OF SARCASM -- I will donate to hear five straight minutes of sarcasm. No special instructions other than that everyone continues as they were with Desert Bus business & other challenges while using as much sarcasm as possible. COMPLETED
THE ROOM CALLENGE - I will donate if everyone in the room interacts normally but speaks like Tommy Wiseau for 5 minutes.
GANGNAM STYLE VS GHOSTBUSTERS - I know you're probably getting a thousand requests for Gangnam Style, but you GOTTA play/dance to the Ghostbusters mashup. I promise to donate if you do. YouTube link
PICK UP PASSENGERS - In the game, a few minutes out from either Tuscon or Vegas there is a bus stop on the side of the road. I will donate if the driver successfully pulls over to the bus stop, opens the door for the non-existent passengers, & then continues on his way.

They did 5 minutes of sarcasm this morning, around 10:00 or 11:00 I think.

Damn! I missed it. The strange thing is, THAT one is marked as completed in my donor account but not the New Pants one, which I was there for last nite.
Now I have to see if the Sarcasm one has been archived anywhere. Can anyone help? Was this 10-11 Pacific time? Also, How was the challenge, fun?

Re: Unofficial Desert Bus Challenges Conversation Thread OF
Just trying to think about it, it was actually have been late last night/very early this morning, since Graham and Kathleen were there, and they were gone by the time I woke up. I shut down the stream around 3:15 A.M., and and I'd guess it was after midnight.
I wasn't paying too much attention to the challenge, since I was working on my entry for the art content. Kathleen was having trouble being sarcastic, since she was really tired, which made it funnier.

Just got home to deal with the bulk of the backlog. Here you go.
There have been various Tommy Wiseau-related things I've seen, can't remember if it was your specific challenge. Gangnam-Busters has happened at least once, but it was spontaneous.

Re: Unofficial Desert Bus Challenges Conversation Thread OF
There's always such a strange feeling of loss as a viewer at the end of Desert Bus. If it only went 3 days, it would be a fun event. At 6 days, it becomes routine and then suddenly there isn't something to have on in the background when there's nothing else to watch or do. Soooooooo good.
Thanks once again to the entire DB Crew for the best year of Desert Bus, in my opinion. The balance of auctions, call-ins and challenges was so much better than last year that I just kept watching. It will be fun to see pictures of the oversized novelty check at the Child's Play charity dinner this year. So many zeroes.
Edit: Oh and I totally won the Mario pocketwatch giveaway so a special thanks to Ian for bringing such awesomeness back from Japan.

Desert Bus: Awesome as always. 2 Silent Auctions and 1 Giveaway won, plus several challenges done. This was just an awesome year for me, you folks, them, and the children.

My favourite DesertBus was still desertbus 4. But god damn today was a close second.
This was, in my opinion mechanically the perfect forumula, my only problem with it was my own, and that was that because of sickness the first two days I set my alarm for 6 hours sleep and would wake up 18 hours later instead. But you guys can't control my immune system! Other than that, gad damn!

Faster Gunner! Faster! I want to re-watch the scarf auction!
Also, brilliant work on that. Getting just about the entire thing up on the net is a huge undertaking - and you and those working with you (well, I believe there were others working with you) have pulled it off spectacularly.
