Re: The thread of win
Tonight.
Tonight I just found out that they have, like, patterns. Antique knitting and lace patterns. On the internet.
See you guys in a couple of years if I don't suffocate myself in doilies.

This made me squee so much. Anything that makes me squee is win but you more so than a lot of other stuff. :3

Of course I'm out of my mind. It's dark and scary in there!

The desert bus chat just flew the bus through the galaxy.
And it was so win.

Yeah, it's great, isn't it? When it comes right down to is, my deepest, fondest wish is that EVERYONE could get to feel like I do.

Y'know? That might just explain why it does such a crappy job on the ground - it's not designed for that (it'd be like taxiing a plane 400mi from Tuscon to Vegas )
Aaaand, on the agenda under "New Business", I'm going to file this:
Dr. Mario Fever...the metal cover
...and, while I know this probably abuses the purpose of art, it IS still a delightful 'fuck you, Authority'
Re: The thread of win
Two of the three apps I finished and submitted during crunch week at work are now live on the App Store, the 3rd (which was also supposed to go live on December 1st) is still sat waiting for Apple to review it...

Went to a punk gig for the first time in several years, was pretty awesome. There was extremely cheap vegan chocolate cake with ice cream :3

Re: The thread of win
Just watched (Canadian film) Moon Point because it had a song by The Danger Bees in it.
Go watch it, it's awesome. Seriously it was great. It's an indie film so it has that sort of humble production/storyline common of many indie films so those of you who aren't into that, okay, you don't have to watch it, I'll let you off the hook. But it's full of delightful twists and turns and it's a pretty sweet story. If you like adorably low-key movies I recommend it.

Re: The thread of win
Geoff, it's simple.
Canada outscources to the USA, the USA outscources to China, China outscources to Aus, and Aus outscources to India, India outscources to London!
Unless it's Chocolate or Cheese, in which case everyone outscources to the Swiss! (Even if "The Swiss" refers to some random guy on public transport who had a thick european accent and was too happy to tell you about his chocolate recipe.)

Yeah, fun isn't it.
The app that's still in review is UK-only so we don't just work on Canadian Apps.

Re: The thread of win
So my Biopsych prof said on the class discussion board that there was a directed studies position open for next term (Winter 2013)
Well I emailed him about it and he emailed me back asking me and a few others to meet him at 11 AM today. I was afraid I might not get in because, well, because I'm not very impressive.
Turns out there were 3 positions open and 3 applicants. He said he wouldn't have emailed us if he didn't believe we were good students who would be a good addition to his lab.
Long story short, I'm enrolled in a directed studies course next term. Very good resumé fodder, but also I get to help in behavioural pharmacology research on rats! (As in we get rats high)
The stuff we're going to be doing looks really cool and I can hardly wait.
Also I've found myself in a caring relationship with an amazing person. I've mentioned it before so I won't go into all the mushy details, but he and I also ended up together in two courses and their lab sections so not only do I get to see him a lot, I get a lab partner out of it too!
Argh, I'm just so happy. Words cannot express how happy I am with ... everything. Things never go this well for me...
Maybe the universe isn't so terrible after all.

That sounds fantastic! Any experience like that you get in school is invaluable once you get out.

Just got tickets to go see Pulp Fiction on the big screen. I think that speaks for itself.

I have been really busy working in a studio, freelancing commercially, and running my own business. I dig this. I dig being busy and making money, even if it's peanuts.
Walk in like DeNiro, and leave like Brando.

Castle Crashers is still very fun, but playing it with my good friend is a win Especially when we start fighting for princesses.
