Me!
More great writing from Andy. This time the Favourite Line Award goes to "Not even a little bit?" Loved Paul's delivery of that, although that whole exchange was brilliant. And even after all this time, Spuzzum is still a hilarious word.
Nice hair, Graham!

And then I went to Antisun.org and was transported back to the era of Usenet Kooks. UN-altered REPRODUCTION and DISSEMINATION of this IMPORTANT Information is ENCOURAGED.

Don't you see! LRR has cleverly hidden the Moonbase behind this optical illusion created by the sun's light and Earth's atmosphere acting like a prism scattering the light and focusing it on one point! It's genius!

Re: That's No Moon!
Oh, ANDY!
I got a little uncomfortable there, and then I realized there were a couple of compelling rebuttals waiting, which DID get addressed (but I was waiting a little bit for them...).
Nice 'mental idiosyncrasy of the reporter's his screwing up names, which leads me to the question of "Who called out 'Cavanagh!' back at David 'Cocco-Puffs' near the end?" I would have said it was Jer, but James did camera and Beej did boom...Matt? Someone else?
Great video, and great stinger. I WILL say that you're REALLY too convincing when you play kooks, Graham.
Say...what was the Spuzzum (Spuzham?) Observatory in memorial of, exactly?
...oh, and for the record, I checked "anti-sun.org" first, but quickly got to the site. (still makes me wonder what you're gonna do with "couchmall.net"...)

Yeah, I just checked antisun.org. Well played, guys.
And thanks, Andy, for including the moon landing. The entire time, while Paul was saying, "But it's right there!" I was thinking, "What about the moon landing?"

Re: That's No Moon!
Spuzzum is a extremely small town in British Columbia that has been used for comedic effect several times including the last time Action 9 News talked to an astronomer.
As a whole I did not find this video to be that funny but then again I'm getting a PhD in astrophysics. Bits of the video are funny. I think if this was in a discipline I knew less about I would have found it funnier. I really want to hear what Andy was thinking when he wrote this.

... can we have confirmation that antisun.org is in fact owned by Loading Ready Run? I think it is, but it could be an opportunistic site trying to grab donation dollars.

Re: That's No Moon!
Good point, JackSlack. It would be masterful trolling if anyone actually donated, though I didn't think that other people had that much forethought.
Well... this is one of the only videos written by Andy that I don't consider brilliant, but Graham really sells the dodgy science. See also: Why I don't like statistics sometimes.

Re: That's No Moon!
Another glaring issue that Paul didn't bring up is the phases of the Moon.
A fatal flaw with claiming that the craters are Sun spots is that the Sun spots are a transitory phenomenon. Their number and position change on an eleven year cycle while the topography of the Moon does not change on human time scales. Also the disc of the Sun looks nothing like the Moon.

Huh. Didn't spot that when I checked the URL after watching the video. That doesn't seem very LRR-like.
**edit**
who is lookup claims to be registered to Paul.
