I've been a follower of Quill18 for a few months now. He likes about the same games as I do so his vids are interesting from that perspective.

Also he's one of the few people who can actually keep those slower strategy games interesting for a longer period of time. Definitely worth a watch if you're into that sort of thing.
(also, he is probably going to do a Dwarf Fortress LP soon, he's done one before and it was great)

good lord that game is expensive still. I'll have to wait for a steam sale or settle for let's plays, it does look cool though.

If you are new to Paradox games I would suggest getting EU3 Chronicles (all 4 expansions included unlike Complete that only got 2). its probably one of the simpler games (witch exception for March of the eagles) and it introduces the basic mechanics used in all other games. It also tends to be on sale on steam often.

Apparently I own about 5 Paradox games. I play a lot of strategy in general, Company of Heroes, pretty much everything total war, Civilization, Sins of a Solar Empire, Mount & Blade, off the top of my head anyway.

Maybe I'll just pick up the Paradox company bundle next sale. to get into their more in depth work, By then it'll be summer and I might have some free time.

Maybe not the whole bundle unless you can get it cheap. There are a few games they have which are pretty bad. Supreme Ruler: Cold War, being one of them.

The thing is that because Paradox are more fiscally secure, they've actually said they're now cancelling games for not being good enough, whereas in the past they'd released them anyways to re-coop some of the cost.

But yeah, EUIII is a good place to start. But I think you can often find CKII cheaper in stores, and it still requires Steam to play. So if you want it cheaper, that maybe a way to do it.

pretty sure I picked up CK2 for like £5/$8 in a Steam sale early last year. I've seen it get hefty discounts a number of times on Steam.

CK2 doesn't require Steam if you get it through Gamer's Gate.

Does Gamer's Gate also provide the DLC? (I'm presuming it does)

Yes. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Paradox create GG in the first place?

They did, but I don't think they actually have anything to do with running it anymore.

Yes, it does provide the DLC.

HoI3 collection is on a -75% deal on steam today, although I'm not a big fan of HoI3 (it is TOO MUCH micromanagement and fiddely things you need to do)

Oh, by the way, do you want me to post all the DD's for the more relevant PDS games like the Vic2;HoD and EU4 ones?

Yeah, why not?

I'm especially interested in hearing how EU4 is coming along. Do we know a release date (or month) yet?

Mucho thanks for these.

I've only read the first 5, but the game looks so good already, I seriously can't wait for it.

Considering how well I think they did with CKII, Paradox are definitely moving in the right direction.

Although this wouldn't 100% surprise me because everything has to have bloody zombies these days, I'm guessing it's april fools.

Oh, no doubt. Knowing Paradox, it still wouldn't surprise me if they snuck it in at some point.
