PAX... exists. For the lucky few.

Go get badges while they're still there! http://prime.paxsite.com/registration They go quick.

I won't be there this year, since I'll be off in Ireland, but I'm looking forward to finding out who I'll be missing and hearing all their plans to spend time together and be awesome (no, I'm not, but you should make those plans anyway).

For helpfulness' sake, the days of PAX Prime this year are August 30 - September 2, and as of writing this, all badges are still available; the per-day ones for $30 and the 4-day ones for $95.

Holy crispy crap! The four-day passes are already sold out. That was like 20 minutes after they announced it on Twitter.

And this is why I am very glad I'm probably never going to Prime.

That's crazy.

I was hoping to snag a 4 day badge, but holy crap it was impossible. If anyone has an extra badge, I'll be more than happy to buy one for $100 bucks.

I jumped on it as soon as I saw the tweet (literally, seconds afterwards). Queued for about 5 mins, got to the buying page and 4-Days were already gone. Managed to grab 3 sets of singles for our group. Then started hearing all the reports of the page going down and queue timing out.

Best of luck to anyone still trying to get badges - I think I just got super lucky this time o.O

Didn't even have a chance to get 4-day passes. Now sitting in the queue hoping to get single day passes for my group.

The page keeps blinking, I'm paranoid that my place in the queue keeps resetting.

Not going, Prime is just to expensive for me. Might be able to go to Escapist Expo but it's unlikely. :(

I knew passes for Prime would sell fast but I had no idea how fast.

I barely made it past the queue, but not in time before saturday went sold out :(

I hope I won't miss anything on Saturday...

Waited in the queue for nearly 2 hours but got individual day badges for all 4 days and got a hotel booked. This is getting insane.

We got Friday passes, but likely won't be able to get off work. I've waited for 5 years to attend a PAX and I'll get to go for a few hours Friday night. Woo?

I managed to get a 4-day badge in 6 minutes (time from @Official_PAX tweet to confirmation email). Turning on SMS notifications for @Official_PAX really saved my bacon, along with apparently being in the good graces of the Great Old One that powers the registration servers.

Now I feel bad for everyone who got stuck in the queue for 2+ hours before finding out that only some single-day badges were left (or worse, no badges at all)...

You'll be able to accost LRR at the very least! And maybe attend the LRR panel! And after all, who goes to PAX for anything besides LRR? ;)

Wow, was blown away at how quick they went. Congrats everyone who got a pass. Hopefully the people who couldn't get them will find the extra ones being sold at same price value. Hopefully.

Excited to see you all there!

They shouldnt have paid that much and they shouldnt be allowed to sell it for that much. They should print peoples names on the passes or something.

Like at the time of sale you have to say "Pass one "pikachaos" "pass two "Lord Hosk" if you want to change it you need to send in a letter explaining why or something.

Yea, I have a feeling that more than a few of those passes were snatched up by people who only want to sell them. This seems like it's going to become more and more of an issue. It's also a problem to juggle because plenty of legitimate customers who WANT to go but have a change of plans want to get at least their money back, and the x months is a long time for something to go wrong. So just saying 'no selling passes or else' becomes an issue too.

Also, I'd like to go to PAX Prime sometime, but that'll have to be when I actually have some sort of income. At least I can try for The Escapist Expo (which is much cheaper for me in every way) and hopefully PAX East next year.

I'd wonder what they do at other events with this problem. I know it happens for a lot of things, like sports events and such. I'd be interested in finding out how they deal with it.

They don't do anything?

The secondary market thrives for good reason, and most event holders prefer it that way. Ticketmaster even has (had?) a service whereby they bought their own tickets to sell them back to you at an elevated price.
