Diplomacy

Holy crap. What a fun game.
I finally got my own copy and I'm thoroughly excited.
I was simply curious who else has played this most intriguing of board games and what their opinion was?

It is freaking amazing. My dad absolutely loves it and is pretty good. I like it, but I'm not very good.

I want my next birthday to be Diplomacy themed. Like with teams for each country. They have to coordinate all the orders. For example each country would have several "diplomats" and would have to make sure that all the orders matched up as well as negotiating between other diplomats.

I've played it a few times and started disliking it because I'm just so absurdly bad at it. I always finish last.

One time I even took over someone else's stuff when he went out and immediately got obliterated after that.

That said, I had fun every time, even if it was just for a short while.

I played it with some co-workers a few years ago.

Afterwards, it was mutually agreed upon never to play when an impending release is near.
