The thread of win
Re: The thread of win
I have an audition tomorrow, offers for four more auditions in my inbox (one of them is even good), I start rehearsing for a staged reading on Friday, I will shortly be releasing an album of cover songs, and I turn twenty one next week.
Life seems to be happening to me.

So now I've officially graduated from university, am two weeks into a job as an IT consultant, and have a good bottle of scotch waiting for me at home. I suppose I'm technically supposed to be an adult now?

I'd put it off for a couple of years, ease yourself into it.

Yesterday, I met my friend's girlfriend. She is excellent. We have begun an increasingly torrid exchange of love letters on her Facebook wall. This is... the best thing.

Learned to sew, had my khaki's waist taken in, repaired my jeans, and sewed a pocket square by hand today!

Indeed! It's always helpful to have an ever-knowledgeable mom or gramma at hand, but knowing I can patch up a wearing-out crotch or hem some pants if the need arises is delightful. As it turns out, I thrifted quite a high-quality machine, just needs a little breaking in.

Finally got all my online training done (HA! Half the modules wouldn't load. I'm fucked if I'm robbed) so I can begin working again!

I took the final exam for my mandatory Windows 7 course for my certificate and I passed! Once I get the very expensive/fancy piece of paper, I can offically be called a chef!

Re: The thread of win
I got tickets to the Strip Search finale. It feels weird to be able to do this, but it's right by Arius' work, and only an hour bus ride for me. This is why we moved to Seattle - to be surrounded by the things that matter to us.
Still makes me feel like a giant fangirl though.

Wait...they're having an audience for the finale?!? Shit, I should've bothered to check out today's episode before toddling off to work (but then I wouldn't have it to look forward to after the day I had {q.v.})
Nonetheless, that is TOTALLY WIN and absolutely awesome, L!!

Re: The thread of win
My personal trainer joined me in my physio. He said his back was starting to kill him too so it was the kick up the arse he needed to get back to it. So we did the circuit together.
I gave him a run for his money! Naturally I bowed before the master. He showed me what I could be one day. Maybe even next month. But for now? I came damn close and I think he respected me more for it. I sure as hell respected him for training with me. Also he told me he was doing a Strong Man competition a few days before doing it! So God only knows the strain his body was already under! Just means I need to push myself harder still to rival him!
I will never forget him. He's gone through the same hell I have and come out the other end. He's living proof that I can come back from anything thrown at me. Sometimes we need a reminder of the things we already know and who better than someone else who has gone through the exact same thing?

Re: The thread of win
So remember how I said I had 19 hours to do a 3k word paper last night? Well, it was in actuality 2.5-3k. So at 800 words I decided I was about a third of the way there, so I could sleep a bit. Slept 7 hours, with the need to average 200 words an hour, which is doable. Managed that in the morning for a bit, then doubled it, got in a shower, mostly done at 1pm, got great critiques from friends, managed to head to the bookstore (to find page numbers) at 3:50 (due at 5), that took longer than I expected, finished, printed, turned it in at 4:45! YEAH. I WIN!

Bah, with the pace of this sort of thing, it's like you 'spoiling' the twist in The Usual Suspects, or Citizen Kane, etc.
And in related news, I finally got off my butt and watched "A Kick In the Pants"...
...now I just gotta suffer through a sucky week without the 'midway' reprieve of a Tuesday Strip Search ep.
Oh, well, darn.

I got my N class driver's license today. To those of you not in BC, this means I can drive by myself. And I only made two mistakes on my test! STOOOOOKED!

I don't think they're actually having a live audience FOR the finale. I think they're getting people together to watch the finale, given Khoo's tweet looking for a place to show it. But I could be wrong of course. It seems to me like they're trying to get it to be more like the PAX showing.

Re: The thread of win
The tickets they were selling were for "live finale" not "come watch with us"

If they are doing a live finale then the artists had more than 2 months to prepare those strips...
