The Escapist has the Publisher's Club, which is $20 per year, and removes all ads from the site, and allows access to the high-quality stream. I have no idea how much of that goes to LRR, but there you go.

Here's an idea that I have no idea if anyone would actually implement: make a "Steam wallet" style account on a video site. That way, when you come upon a video you enjoy, you can throw some money the creators' way, even if it's only a few cents.

None of the Pub Club goes directly to us, but it helps with ad revenue.
I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Code: Select all

Khan steals the device to launch a weapon of mass destruction, Kirk and co. pursue. Cue an epic standoff, where Khan is defeated and barely escapes, Kirk opens the box with the device in only to find...

Well, I was originally going to take a chunk out of Patton Oswalts Sci-fi filibuster from Parks and Rec, but instead. Hmmm

Code: Select all

Due to the temporal instability caused by monkeying around with the space-time continuum and entangling timelines, the new crew must travel back in time and kill every single whale on Earth in 1986. It's a total fish out of water/blowing fish out of water tale

James or Kathleen (talking about StripSearch): Nobody wants to watch an hour long video on YouTube!

...Uh... This LRRcast was 57 minutes. Jus' sayin', youse guuuuuys. I'm not much of a StripSearch fan either, but even still. =P

Also, I find the lack of Labyrinth in the "old nostalgic movies" highly disturbing. This podcast clearly needs to be re-recorded. =P

The vidcast is only one option, there is also audio :)

And if we don't make up for missed 'casts, folks get annoyed with us, so we go long.

What's the usual forum for asking LRR these days? I keep waiting for AskLRR threads but it seems Twitter and Facebook are the major spots at the moment.

They said a couple weeks back that they're going to rotate between forums, Twitter, and Facebook. I believe it was in that order.

As we're coming up on 3 weeks since the last LRRcast recording (that has been released, anyway), and have had two TTC's in the meantime, any word on future LRRcasts?

I think they have just gotten really busy with the Strip search DVD. More LRR casts should be coming.
