Love how they have spells to reference certain myths. I mean, look at this one.

I don't know if this is official, but I saw it posted and it certainly fits...

I think I'd use this in a Simic Biomancer deck, should be an upgrade of creatures most of the time.

I was thinking of more a W/r control, with the new Elspeth and Heliod. Chained to a rock, Pacifism and Sphere of Safety to stabilise, then overwhelm with Assemble the Legion, and finish with Elspeth's ultimate.

Was once a naive young boy with magic thrust upon me by my father with the sacred words "Here, you have them, your mother says they are taking up room under the bed"..and played....and then got bored........and then friends got interested so played more!!!!! oh and I love the idea of turning all my opponents' creatures into pigs.......but I bet they would call me a swine.....

So Brian Kibler previewed the 2nd planeswalker from Theros and it's a doozy.

Jesus. Did Red/Green need another killer planeswalker? Seems pretty weird they'd put two Gruul planeswalkers in the same block. His +1 could easily replace his mana cost on the turn he's played and provide ramp into 9 or 10 mana on future turns. His ult will basically read "put the top 7 cards of your library onto the battlefield" in decks that run him. Yeesh.

That's good, because they haven't yet. Domri was last block.

Such as my deck. :P Now I need to decide what combination I want of him, Garruk (caller), and Domri I want in my deck...

I was almost sure he was going to be a black walker though judging by the art.

Having just watched the trailer for Theros, it seems our pal Xenagos here is our antagonist of the set.

Also, still hoping for a Kiora Atua planeswalker card. This seems like the best realm to get her as of yet (besides Zendikar)

he is a solid planeswalker but i feel that decks that want him are much better with domri. i like this guys ultimate but PW rarely last long enough to use it. so based on their first and second ability i think domri is better.
i dont think running both of em is an option. we shall see.

They serve very different purposes. This guy is ramp and creature-creation. Domri is potential card draw and pseudo-removal. In a G/R aggro deck, Domri's better since they likely won't need so much mana. But in that deck he might be too slow anyways given they want to be very fast and hard-hitting. For a G/R midrange, I think he's better. It allows you to play your bigger creatures if you're hitting your curve. If you're not, then he can make a token to protect himself and help with the ramp, or it can just swing in right away if you want to get some quick damage. Plus, he's nicer to other Planeswalkers than Domri is. He goes very well with Garruk, who'll likely come out the turn after and fill your had with creatures to cast with his ramp ability.

yeah i get that and his ramp will be very relevant in midrange decks. its going to be a meta call but my instinct says Domri will see more play.

but moving on, seems wizards have essentially reprinted thundermaw with upside(pro white) and IMO a more relevant ability. Stormbreath Dragon replaces thundermaw quite nicely and its a card the control/revelation players are going to hate. ill take 4 thank you very much.

It's not nearly as good as Thundermaw in my opinion for one big, big reason. It doesn't make sure you get in.

First of all, it's weaker. 1 p/t doesn't SOUND like much... until you realize it gives your opponent a full extra turn if you're just swinging with it. It has protection from white, which is relevant, but not great. The big thing about Thundermaw was that it hit all fliers for one and tapped them, allowing you to pretty much make sure you get in for the damage you want. It also had the upside of killing anything small in the air. This guy doesn't have that. He can be chump blocked or traded with the turn he comes down. And that's relevant.

This guy has monstrosity for a decent cost and with a decent effect. But the players it'll work well against for that ability won't let it hit or stay on the field long enough for you to use it.

yes thundermaw was better when looking at fliers on the other side of the table but a lot of the time that was not the case. i am not saying this guy is better than thundermaw taken as a whole but he is absolutely constructed playable and is a GOOD replacement for thundermaw.
and yes the control decks wont want to let it live but the pro white means they need a more specific answer for it.

realistically this dragon might as well say "protection from Azorius Charm" cuz that's clearly where they were going with that colour choice.

Which is gonna make my mono-white deck sad if it weren't for Celestial Flare ^_^

Thundermaw would be less relevant anyway without Lingering Souls.

This guy does put a damper on the heavy white control deck I was thinking of, but Celestial Flare and Sphere of Safety still work, and Imposing Sovereign takes the edge off the haste.
