That was an interesting podcast. It was good to hear from the "non-core" but still super awesome members, and see their perspective on stuff. I hope the Lava Bears gets funded if for no other reason that there will be more Jer in LRR.

OT: thanks for the link Lurkon I lost too much time reading old blog updates (mostly from James apologizing for not updating it regularly). Also there is a ton of spam in those comment sections, just funny some of the phrases they use to try and lure people into clicking.

Fun fact: Purchasing the short bus for the San Diago Comic-Con was an early LRR attempt at crowd sourcing. In a LRRcast they asked for donations to help buy the bus.

I don't quite remember everything that was there but I do remember a lot of gay sex (like disproportionately so) and with zebra's or something really odd.

ETA: I wonder. what happened to the bus? I assume you guys sold it sometime after the trip. I know it wasn't right after because I got caught up reading the blog posts and I remember James saying you used it to haul around your dolly for filming "The Truce." You also went on another road trip with it to the Child's Play Charity Auction.

I think they were talking about it last Desert Bus and said it's at Bill's Mom's house, and there had been a homeless guy living in it. I may be getting my stories confused, though.

Great podcast, guys!

The bus sat in Bills parking lot for several years after the road trip. We attempted to deal with it a handful of times over the years but it was always such a pain in the ass. Bill finally ended up moving out several years ago now and we finally had to deal with it. In the end we just had someone come and tow it away for scrap. If I remember correctly we got $200.00 bucks for it.

It occurs to me that a LRRcast at some point with an all-female panel could be interesting like this as well.

An all Women of LRR would be? Kathleen, Tally, ah Kate and ummm, Maya? Ash? Loading Ready Run is like Lord of the Rings, when they film it they will have to make Alex->Alexandra and make him/her Pauls love interest and give the Kate actress half of Matts lines.

Also, this was a great episode of Alexander and Brendan talk to the microphones while Cameron and Jeremy forget they are there and have a conversation with each other.

Where was the question call for this? I seem to be missing all the Ask LRR question calls and I have a couple of good ones.

They said the next one would be here, on the forums. So you can keep an eye out for that.

Yeah, but they seem to be called only a few minutes before they film, so unless you're lurking all day (and really, who does that *cough*) you might miss it.

The idea is that you get text notifications of tweets, I think. Only way I got a question in.

Or you just overly check twitter on your phone at a all times of the day.... I had a question I was going to ask a couple of days before this LRRcast but I promptly forgot about it. The only one I could come up with at the time was the same annoying question of when they are going to get more Large Awww Muffin shirts in so I can finally buy one (annoying because I've asked it a couple of times before). I decided I should just be more patient. Maybe it will be restocked before Christ-... *cough* the Holidays so my girlfriend can buy it for me??

ETA: and now I check it again and its back in stock... Open mouth; insert foot.

On the subject of drawing a bow: yes, a large portion of the pull should be with your upper back muscles; many people try to force the string back with their biceps and shoulder muscles, but these muscles should be instead used to aid the back muscles.

I was an archery instructor for a summer almost 10 years ago now... this talk of bow technique makes me want to get back into it... :)

The Crapshot with the invisibility cloak was The Camoflage. As of today, the video with the least fews is The Automaton.

A really big problem people have with archery is it has nothing to do with your hands, people think, "im right handed, I should put the arrow in my right hand" You are pushing the bow with one hand and pulling with equal but opposite force with the other arm, using a bow is a whole upper body thing if you do it right. So really you should first think about your dominant eye before figuring out which hand the bow goes in, otherwise you will be sighting off your weak eye, and your strong eye will be saying "nahh uhhh, off to the left (or right)

I've done archery once or twice and I'm right handed, with left eye dominate. It can be a little disorienting at first as your hand thinks it has precedence over your eyes when it really really doesn't.

The thing about dominant hands and bows is that both hands will be doing equal work (Newton's law and all) so dominant hand isn't as relevant as you might think.

The main issue isn't to do with dominant arm but dominant hand: without practice, it can feel unnatural drawing and releasing a bow with your 'wrong' hand, and because it won't be as dexterous you are more likely to not get a clean release and not shoot straight.

Previous posters are correct though; much better to do dominant eye and just train your hand.
