LRR Draft: The Power of Sparkles

Postby Graham » 22 Oct 2013, 21:32

Graham and James unleash the power of a new card frame by taking all the sparkly things. It goes well!

It's really remarkable how well that worked out.

It seems greedy strategies are really paying off in this set.

I found the one trick pony comment kind of funny. It's not just one trick, as you're constantly having to choose between dealing with that one super-voltron guy or all the smaller creatures that will drop off once you kill the first guy.

I think we should start calling the Wavecrash Triton one of two things:

Head of the Voltron, or:

Triton and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Pants.
It's all over but the crying. And the taxes.

The one thing I don't quite understand is why you guys wouldn't attack into his guy with deathtouch in round three, sure, the body of whatever creature you attack in with dies, but it's a one for one, and his guy is AMAZINGLY powerful against your deck. Wouldn't it have made more sense in round three to just attack into that thing over and over and hope he blocks with it so that you don't have as much to worry about from it in the future?

I agree. With that guy on board, my strategy becomes "kill that guy at all costs or it will cost all my creatures"

Do you guys have any special plans for a themed Halloween draft next Thursday? If not, why not?

could do a monsterous Theros draft? Or a most scary looking card art draft (I have a feeling they'd end up on black...)
