The lovely lady I met up with Wednesday has been texting back and forth with me, which is great since I was getting a little nervous due to a couple days lull in contact.

My girlfriend tells me she doesn't quite "get" Desert Bus. I'm not sure what to do.

Take her to Las Vegas and abandon her to the Arizona wastes between there and Tucson. It is the only way.

I wouldn't burn you as a witch for that. I'd burn you as a witch because you're a witch.

I won't burn you! For the longest time I was like, "what?"

It's really just like a telethon of torture. It started based on the Desert Bus game and evolved into them doing things for money and auctioning off things for money.

So for the first time in my life, I'm starting to spend time thinking about what I need to change in my life in order to be able to share it more permanently with another person. Basically just take this whole "living" thing a bit more seriously.

It's a ways off for sure, but I see the relationship moving in that direction. It's kinda scary too.

"Telethon of Torture" is about as accurate a description as I can think of.

Plushies are great random gifts for the first three years of a relationship. Then you hit critical shelf mass. My girlfriend accelerated the schedule by learning to make plushies. We also both have a shitload of lego and books. We need more bookshelves.

Was all of her crafting a ploy to get you to learn to build shelves?

No, she is fully aware that my project list is a mile long. To give you an idea, here is this week's project list:

Making:
-Beer advent calendars
-Veneer bracelet
-Twisted veneer lamp forms
-Durarara Celty Helmet fiberglass ears
-Move into new space at artisan's asylum

Designing:
-New desk
-Workbench
-Drafting/drawing table
-Tool chest

I do too much stuff.

Also I have a 40 hour a week job, plus 2-3 hours a day of commuting.

So, I actually have a reason to post here for once! Met up for coffee with someone really nice after talking online for a couple weeks, and I can't remember the last time I had such a good, long conversation with a person I'd just met. We're making plans to get together again soon. :D

I'm trying to see if I can find time and finance to meet up again with the lady I met up with a couple weeks ago, she seemed pretty receptive to the idea but she's sort of lackadaisacal on responding to messages.

I hit a girl in a face with a chainsaw today at work. She was cute.

That's about as close as I've come to a relationship recently.

(The chainsaw had no blades in it)

I'm kind of in the same boat as Lying. The person I met up with last weekend and I have been emailing back and forth quite a lot, and saw each other again during the week. I think it went okay, but it didn't last very long this time. We went skating, and neither of us had been for years, so we were both sore pretty quick, and I was already feeling kind a bit under the weather. But she trusted me enough to drive her home (despite saying previously she had a policy of not taking rides from someone she'd known for less than a week), so I'm taking that as a good sign.

But now I haven't heard anything from her in the last three days, when we'd been emailing a multiple times a day before that. The worrier in me thinks that this is a sign of disinterest, but I don't get the sense she's someone who would just cut communication without saying anything. So now I'm just waiting around wondering what's going on, and trying not to be too pessimistic.

Okay, I guess it's not that similar to Lying's situation, but whatever.
