I agree with lx, Mr Brightside has to be in every playlist
Some say it's there no matter if you put it there or not

Re: Advice Thread
I constantly get confused between the song titles Mr Brightside and Mr Blue Sky. Yes, I know that they're very different songs, by very different bands (ELO are actually good!) but just reading or hearing the words Mister Brightside instantly makes me think of the lyrics to Mr Blue Sky.
I am completely unable to get in any way excited or interested in the music of The Killers. ELO, on the other hand, are wonderful. I put forth the notion that no playlist is complete without Mr Blue Sky.

Re: Advice Thread
And that's fine. I was just making a comment about what Mr Brightside always makes me think of, and being a little facetious in stating my opinion as fact.
Don't worry, I'm sure The Killers have much to recommend them to those may see (or hear, I suppose) their merits.

Re: Advice Thread
Need some advice on a project. Two questions: Should I go with a colour palette to separate the console generations or stick to one?
How should I label them:
Name
Console
Publisher/Developer
Release Date (See Green)
or
Name
Developer/Publisher
Console
Date (See Yellow)

Re: Advice Thread
It was a colour test. I duplicated the layers and was checking the font colours.
Do you have any suggestions for what is better?

Re: Advice Thread
I like the colours, but I think putting the developer/publisher right after the name, before the console makes more sense.

Re: Advice Thread
I'm not a fan of how the text in every single box is all the same color except for that last one. I understand why you did it with the gradient being the way it is, it's just jarring.
Agreed. It would look more... concise. Professional? Efficient.Jamfalcon wrote:I like the colours, but I think putting the developer/publisher right after the name, before the console makes more sense.

Re: Advice Thread
When you say the same colour do you mean you don't like the use of a lighter hue to the backing? Or all the font colour looks the same?

Re: Advice Thread
I mean that in any given generation box, all the text is the same color. I think the color is fine, except for that last "Home Computer" box where the last line is black instead of white. It's the only one that's different, and it looks weird to me.

Re: Advice Thread
Alright, I wasn't sure if this was more "advice" or "awkward", but here goes.
Yesterday a friend messaged me to arrange going out for dinner for a mutual friend's birthday. I confirmed that I'd be in attendance, arranged to pick someone up, the works, and asked what time we were meeting. He didn't reply, but he called me a couple of hours later.
The thing is, I went to bed kind of early last night and I have this vague memory of talking to him on the phone and him telling me what time, and I checked my call log and he definitely did call me after I'd been in bed for a while, but... I don't actually remember what time he said.
What do I do?

Call again and say you forgot to write it down?

Or just call and explain the same thing you just wrote down. I don't know why it would be embarassing?

Maybe it's not. It just feels weird to me to call him back and say, "Hey, I think I answered the phone in my sleep last night?"

I often hold conversations while asleep. If I'm not standing, nothing I say counts.

Re: Advice Thread
I'd say "What time was it again?" and then guess a time you think it would have been. Then he'll correct you. Or you might just get it right first time.

It's funny, I'd love to get a call like that. "I know you already told me, but I was asleep then."
Maybe my friends are used to at least one of us being flaky weirdos.
Or ask the person you're supposed to be picking up?
