Not to be a self promoting asshole, but if you love the character and missed it during Desert Bus, I wrote a couple of ads which Graham brilliantly preformed, and Beej, just as brilliantly, ad-libbed a stinger for both.

Heh, actually read this in his voice. Amazing.

I've been reading this entire thread in his voice. I can't get him out?

And, having just finished it, I can say with great ease and excitement that this is one of my favorite episodes in a long time. It might honestly be one of my favorites.
I have to agree. So glad I can put these on my favourite playlists.

Agreed. This spokes-guy and Johnny phrase things in a similar way and put accents on the "wrong" syllables. It's very distinctive and I can't think how two people could have the same speech pattern but have different personalities.

Oh Graham, how you talk so bad so good?
This seems like it was fun to write.
(I missed/forget what's going on with Loading Time. It'll be back eventually? Back shortly? Something else?)
Edit: nevermind.
Nitpickerally, those graphics are way too good (or "good"?)for janky local community access newsitorium.

Oh it's gotta be Eyewitness Accounts. It's gotta be. (That's the only sketch I remember there being a mall in... PRESIDENT OF THE MALLWALKER'S ASSOCIATION)
It is. Alex's character is identified as the Baysidefair Mall Superintendent. However Kathleen's character is identified as a customer of Twin Oaks Mall earlier in the video.

This video could go on forever, or maybe its the wine? Either way I love this character.

This was dense with comedy. My favorite part was "it took a while, but we read the whoooole thing."

Wait, there was a SECOND ONE?!?

Brilliant! Pity they seemed to cut off Beej/Dave's stinger in the second - looked ominous/potentially hilarious with that rifle in his hands.
Oh, and the first one is STILL delightful! (oh everyone's reactions at that ONE flavour )

I absolutely love this character! The way Graham emphasizes the wrong syllables (lots of stuff happening in Dixon Heights, maybe stay-inside?) is so hillarious.

How many takes do you have to do to get the inflection right for that character? It seems like you would occasionally accidentally speak "normal" and blow a take, but maybe you ARE jUSt a fAr moRE skilled ACtor than I am?

I've been involved in a lot of ill-thought out charity drives before. "All proceeds go" is a very apt way of describing them

Re: What's Going On?
I've similarly been enjoying this episode far too much – people around me are starting to comment on changes in my speech patterns.
I'd be curious to see a montage of all the Dave's ads chronologically, just to watch the progression of this guy's character and speaking patterns. My guess is there's a story to be told in there, too.
(Also, bonus: "Dave's Stuffing, Animals, and *Stufed* Animals" contains a typo.)

That's probably intentional...
BUT! I have been thinking for awhile that I'd love to see some of those rapidfire sketches cut together into a single video. I know they aren't intended to be watched that way, but I'd be curious to see it.

Somehow, this video made me think of Bogleech's Burgrr website from this Halloween.
The idea of just incorrect inflection, syntax, and intent to give the impression that something's not right.

Is it me, or does the music steadily increase in tempo as the sketch goes on?
It's probably just me. But if I'm not crazy, it's a good touch.

Re: What's Going On?
Okay so, it's finals week at my uni, and I watched this video a bunch of times to get all the little jokes. Then I tried studying. I ended up reading EVERYTHING in this guy's voice. The best was my Italian practice exercises:
PERche ha fame LorenZO.
Non HA manGIato? il pranzo.
So excellent.

phlip wrote:While I love the character, and all of the bits of this video are hilarious (the stinger in particular is amazing, Beej's weapon hand trembling is so good)... all together, it's a bit much. A character better suited to Rapidfire and shorter one-hit pieces like the CAH video, I think.
A bit of text-only Loading Time regarding the stinger...
I got myself seriously amped-up to the point where all of the trembling was involuntary. My fury was dark, deep, and self-propelled. Someone was going to get seriously hurt.
Apparently, I'm Method.

I want to believe that this television station is run entirely by him, and the "Brought to you by" woman is his wife or something.
