The thread of win
Re: The thread of win
Since you didn't specify new what, I've been having fun inserting my own words.
New girlfriend has been one of the more interesting ones.

I was finally able to play Cards Against Humanity today, thanks to JackSlack. We were all terrible people.

That realization is liberating, isn't it?
Oh...wait, you meant "we who played CaH today" as the "we are all" not "every member of homo sapiens sapiens that has ever existed".
...well...
...awkward.

Re: The thread of win
Oh man, just spent two hours snowboarding!
Apart from the usual Audi twats, white van nutters and one particularly clearly drunk driver in a Hyundai on the drive up and down, it was totally amazing.
I love snowboarding so much. I stacked it once, ollieing when going a little too quickly and my glasses fell apart as I cartwheeled, but it was easy enough to repair. Good job I took my helmet.

Re: The thread of win
On the topic of snowboarding, me and a few friends drove to the Austrian alps (3000km, give or take 34 hours one way, worst idea we ever had for the record). But once we got there... oh man. The weather was fantastic and we found some of the best off-piste runs I've 'boarded down in my life. It was absolutely amazing.
The scenery down there is just gorgeous. Getting to stand on a peak kilometers above the ocean and just look out over peak after snow-clad peak.
...And then we had to drive the 3000km back home again. Still worth every minute in the car, though.
On another note, said car used was my 24-year old Mercedes. Ran like a dream the entire way, only had to fill it with petrol, some oil and replace a burnt out lightbulb. I was pleasantly surprised by that particular development.
That is all for now.

Re: The thread of win
Might be a silly win, but I got to bring home all the pain au lait buns (16) I made in class today and a co-worker gave me a strawberry shortcake she made in her class.
Also, my buns were super pretty and they were the second ones into and out of the oven. I would have taken a picture, but I only thought of it now, and I only have 4 buns left . . . I ate and/or gave away the rest to my co-workers.

Ah, but can you imagine, stood on a basketball court, waiting for that Rodman feller to stop singing so that you can present your paper to the 'Dear Leader'?

Getting out of there with all your limbs (if not still attached, then at least in your possession) and without renaming the Moon "The Kim" would be the world's biggest win.

As someone who is highly defencive about my stuffed toys and other people's stuffed toys, I found this moving.
Sure it's not a starving family being given aid. But it's still a nice thing that makes a firstworld person be overjoyed.

Re: The thread of win
I always feel like such a genius when I fix trivial issues in the code (and by code I mean CSS) of the forum I run, even if it's just by looking up what to do.
Less so when I manage to misspell genius, however.
