The General Chat thread
Re: The General Chat thread
Black British?
Ah.... labels...
And yes, it could totally be a Ram Jam song.

Reading "Black British" leaves me with the tune for "White Wedding" stuck in my head, and I'm not entirely sure how that works.
While no one overhear you quickly tell me not cow cow.

...Now I have to figure out if I want to attempt to go to LRRCon or not... It'd be about $600 if I didn't split a hotel room with other people.

Yeah, I'm torn too. Obviously it's not nearly that much, since I could drive there, but I'm still looking at a couple hundred dollars by the time all's said and done. That said, it's so temptingly close, and far cheaper and of more interest to me than PAX...

Flights really are the killer. I'd be looking at about a grand to get there and back.

Re: The General Chat thread
I could easily go Greyhound and take a 20 hour shot up north from Cali. Sleep on the bus, get there late Friday night, somehow survive until the morning, Con it up, then turn around and 20 hour busride back.
It's about a hundo each way, which isn't terrible, it's just a bit of a bussing, I'd still have to do something for the hours between arriving and Con opening. Still have a few months, though, so who knows.

Re: The General Chat thread
Someone tell me what LRRCon is so I can be angry that I can't go.
It's all over but the crying. And the taxes.

I'm assuming because they not only have a large Canadian contingent, but also a large America fanbase, and since Victoria is pretty close to Seattle, the biggest major US city closest to them, makes sense.
Still doesn't help that it's tucked in a corner of the country everyone has to congregate to, but at least it's not in Australia. Ah ha ha haaa-and now I'm sad for making fun of my friend Seth.

*checks details*
Oh, and out of idle curiosity, I fired up Expedia and checked to see what they'd offer for round-trip flight between YYT & SEA (leaving Thursday, returning Sunday - *ALWAYS* plan for unexpected delays), a single room and car rental...
...the best price they offered was at the DoubleTree Hilton.

£645 return flight.
Not when I need a new car. Oh well, there's always next year.

Yeah, if someone could tow the whole of Great Britain to within 30 miles of USA's western seaboard that would be super.

Tomorrow will be interesting. 2 birthdays and 1 funeral to go to. The two people who's birthday it is will be at the funeral so that's convenient

Throw a line Oceania's way to, if you don't mind.

Perhaps the winds will blow the UK closer to the New Land.

If you could, say, get a big crowbar and pry up Missouri and bring it with you, that'd be super.
Just let us replace Manitoba. It's basically the same thing.

Please don't blow the UK anywhere closer to America. I don't want the weather to change considerably and fuck the ecology. Pretty much the only problem I have with it!

Yeah I don't want the weather back home (Victoria, BC) to be messed up.
