Re: LRRcon 2014
I would recommend calling the hotel to book if the website isn't showing available rooms. I booked early and the hotel website wasn't showing a room available for all of the nights I wanted, but they were able to give me all 5 nights at the LRRcon rate when I called.

I got my tickets. I'm trying to wrangle the hotel. (I'm trying to see if I can bundle it with my flight, as well as using the group code and my rewards number. *crosses fingers for triple-dipping*)

So I've got my ticket, I'll be booking my flight as soon as finals are over, and I'm rooming with a couple of the DB Survivors.

Re: LRRcon 2014
I've got a room I can split, if anyone's interested. It's not one of the group-rate rooms, as it was actually cheaper, though it's apparently a bit further from the place of the convention area.

How many nights do you have the room for, Memo? I need to work out my accommodation plans too.

Re: LRRcon 2014
Just a thought, but it might be a good idea to make a separate section for LRRcon stuff. It would probably make it easier if there were separate threads for things like room sharing and meetups and general excitement than piling them all into this one, and they'd just get buried in General Discussion.

Just popping in to say: if you know myself or Arius and would like to say "hi" before or after the con, PM me.
Also, if you're going to be touring downtown Seattle (Space Needle, Pike Market, etc) we can offer a place to crash and use the bathroom. (There aren't many free public restrooms in the downtown area.)
We will both be at LRRCon. Not offering sleeping space as our new apt isn't really set up for it. Unless you're super desperate, then PM me.

Re: LRRcon 2014
Who still has a room to split?
Re: LRRcon 2014
I'm currently hunting down hotels. I'm staying from the 8th to the 14th and a twin queen room at the doubletree hilton is the same price as a single.
*Edit*
I'm also willing to bring small amounts of British sweets with me. If you'd like to place any orders. No charge, but I will accept trades for your American "candy" to take home with me.

I've love some British candy- I have no preference (I haven't had real European candy since mom went to Scotland 20 years ago). I can ask my fiancé to get some Mountain Bars... they're local to the area, so I guess that makes them extra unique?
Just remember- no Kinder Eggs!

FYI, noticed when price checking today that Southwest has the same hotel at a $5 discount from the LRR-rates. ($99 vs $105)
Re: LRRcon 2014
Hey LRR, question- any way to get a list of what will be available board-game wise? My friends and I are wondering if it would be prudent to bring titles from our own collection (I did just acquire a carry-bag for my CAH Bigger, Blacker Box for example. )

Re: LRRcon 2014
What I've generally found with group rate rooms is that the rate might not be the absolute minimum you can find anywhere for the same room, but, in addition to being in the same block as everyone else in the group, it winds up being beneficial to the people putting on the event (LRR in this case) in some way or another. Such as discounts on the meeting halls, more perks during the events, etc. Or at the very least, if they asked the hotel to reserve at least X number of rooms for us (likely a bit of a big deal if the hotel expects a lot of traffic), LRR won't be penalized if X isn't reached.
I know I'm bringing my copies of We Didn't Playtest This At All and Mr. Card Game if I don't see those on any list...

I'm so in for a few rounds of We Didn't Playtest this- my brother has that, it's awesome!
We have a pretty substantial collection, and we live close enough to bring any of it- Tsuro, Catan, House on Haunted Hill, Pandemic, Dixit, Ticket to Ride, Elder Sign, Resistance, Munchkin, Forbidden Island... um... I know there's more...
Plus I've been working on the most complete set of Cards Against Humanity I can make- core game, expansions 1-4, both Holiday sets, both PAX sets, the Bigger Blacker Box... and I just ordered the UK expansion on Ebay. That leaves out the Canada exclusive cards, the Kickstarter set, the reject set, and the House of Cards set- anybody got a spare of that? I've got a 2012 Holiday pack to trade!
I'm looking forwards to adding to my handwritten LRR set from PAX Prime last year, too!

curse my geographical location... flying from here is not something I can allow myself to spend on a ticket out there.

Re: LRRcon 2014
I think I might be able to afford this even if I don't split a hotel, buuuut... does anyone want to split MY hotel room? It's a double right now, I'm only currently planning on having it for Friday and Saturday.

Re: LRRcon 2014
My brother's work schedule just changed, so it looks like he'll be coming along too, and I've sorted out how I'm getting there now. As long as nothing goes wrong with the passport application, it looks like I'll be seeing some of you in a few weeks.
