LRRcon 2014
Re: LRRcon 2014
Where in the hotel will the LNDF take place, because as a 19 year old my access to bars is much more restricted outside Canada.

I was hoping a LNDF would happen, as Beej would be there for sure! One of the (many) highlights of DB7 for me...Dat martial arts scene...I'm gonna go find it on youtube again.

Was there anything figured out in regards to the font?

Re: LRRcon 2014
Ok, I somehow lost my confirmation email. Are passes being mailed to all, or was there pickup? I know I would have opted for pick-up if it was offered, since we're local to Seattle.
Is there a way to get passes before Friday if you're not staying at the hotel?

Re: LRRcon 2014
Pretty sure there was a "pick up at the event" option or something of the sort. There was also a print at home option which is what I did (and am regretting, because my printer is dying).

I'm pretty sure it will be in the conference/event facilities and therefore all-ages accessible.

The options when ordering were to have tickets mailed out, print at home, or will-call. Maybe Brown Paper Tickets would be able to resend your confirmation? Here's the contact information from my ticket.

Is anyone else arriving on the Clipper on Friday who would like to split a cab to the hotel?

Re: LRRcon 2014
@Chemistring - yeah I found that right after I posted... duh.
I guess I'm hoping there will be an option to pick up at the dub fight. The airport area is about an hour by public transit from our place. If we have to pick up early in the afternoon, that's fine as long as someone wants to hang out with us until the evening.
I just got the horrible sinking feeling that someone had assumed all badges would be picked up at the con, then scheduled an event that requires the bade before the con... Not that I've ever worked on event teams that did stuff like that, noooooo.... In other words, this is why I'm paranoid when it comes to events.

Wait, we're getting badges? That would solve a minorish issue I had, trying to figure out who of these people we never see in person are LRRcon attendees, especially if they choose not to wear conspicuous LRR/DB shirts.
So yes, we might actually need some steenking badges.
Side note: Just to confirm, the Doubletree DOES run shuttles to and from SEATAC, right? So I can reasonably expect to not have to bum a ride to the airport Sunday morning?

I made a button with my avatar. It looks terrible, but hopefully should do the job. Though I guess that's no an ideal solution for you.

Re: LRRcon 2014
So... the deadline for the contest is in ~6 hours if I'm not mistaken, right? I'm just not sure is it's midnight where the crew are or somewhere else. Cause the people I was going to have help film it dropped out at the very last minute. So I'm going to be trying to get one done before it's too late.

Hotel website says complementary shuttle service to/from Seatac so you're good.
thatlaurachick, I assume they will set up something for badge pickup or ticket validation before the dubfight. My guess is a registration/whatever they're doing for pass-pickup table outside the dubfight room a couple of hours before the dubfight starts will be added to the schedule at some point. That or they don't care if a few hotel randoms attend the dubfight.
Re: LRRcon 2014
According to the PDF schedule, badge pick-up and registration is 8-10 on Sat morning, if that helps. Maybe we don't need badges for the Friday evening thing.
EDIT: Looks like there will be registration from 6-10 on Friday too.

Well, if I took the time to draw up an avatar for myself from my comic, then bought a button maker and plastered it on that, then still nobody would recognize me, but I'd at least have a nifty button!
Hm... a bunch of nerds with smartphones handy in one room most likely with wifi coverage (or that can be bodged together)... anyone heard of Spaceteam?

I live in Eastern United States. But given where LRRcon is/was based, I was using that as a base time. So their midnight would be my 3 AM (which has already passed). It was more a question to make sure they didn't use some other time.

I thought it was Midnight Monday, not Midnight MONDAY?

At least from what Kathleen said on the stream, it was the Sunday-Monday midnight and not the Monday-Tuesday midnight if that's what you mean.

Liz posted in the blog saying that registration will be open at 7pm on Friday! We (Arius and I) will come down around then and hang out until the show.

Technically, 12 am Monday is 'midnight' immediately following 11:59pm Sunday. The post says to get it in BEFORE Monday.
If everyone is on the same page... well, that's another story. Such is why I try to make deadlines 11:59pm... it's just simpler.

Welp, so I'm done.
Re: LRRcon 2014
After some minor strings pulled at work, I can finally confirm that I will be in attendance. I look forward to being awkward around all of you.
