I like to imagine that for "Eavesdropping", Cam and Graham are inadvertently just pick up each other's signals or white noise. Also, is that QR randomiser a thing? Would that actually work?

While QR codes can easily be randomly generated, it is highly unlikely you would pick one up in TV static. Beyond the static changing faster than a camera QR Reader could pick it up, QR codes require a very specific format (to get position, rotation, size, and version information) and are surrounded by whitespace.
