Name that Game!
Re: Name that Game!
Alas I succumbed to the google reverse image search to find out what it is, and I'm really kicking myself for not figuring it out. I've actually played a few one-shots in this system, but its been so long, and not realising they'd made a game from the system, just didn't put 1 + 1 together to figure out what it actually was.

Re: Name that Game!
Wait...
Eye is prominent in the game
Based on P&P RPG
Colours are important (and I just made the connection to "TRAIT-R" actually being "<arbitrary_name>-R<ed>"
SET NUMBER OF CLONES.
They made a Paranoia game for the C-64?!?
*goes off to re-download a C-64 emulator and scour the intarweebs for this...*

Oh man, I wanna play Paranoia soooo badly...
It's all over but the crying. And the taxes.

Re: Name that Game!
Well, FUCK.
Um, gotta think of something...brb
But Prospero - COME JOIN US, CITIZEN.
ADDENDUM: Okay, hope this is a little challenging, but quick enough (I need another nap)
Oh, and thanks to my criteria searches, I've got Paranoia Complex for the game.
I might see about getting the Amiga version (and an emulator); something of 'simple, shallow gameplay' to keep me amused while I convalesce.

Holyshit...are you there, empath? Is there a Runner presence? I'd rather not play with random schmucks.

Re: Name that Game!
I haven't been there in a year or two, but I got email notification of a PM on the forums over there JUST TODAY (suspicious? nah, just a coincidence).
I'd played a few sessions of Jparanoia (java client; mostly text, but still has ALL THE FLAVOUR of the game we know and love), and was dabbling in the forum 'collabrative rpg/storywriting' going on there.
...it seems to be doing just fine, and though I don't think there's an overt Runners presence there...there could be

That's the one that made zyxst ragequit; that sliding-puzzle mural on the bedroom wall...neither of us could figure it out EVEN WITH WALKTHROUGHS.

I don't remember the puzzle offhand...but eeergh, slider puzzles. Hideous nasty things. *googles to remember* Ahahaha oh, okay, that. Yeah, that was...fun.
Guessing that'll keep everyone guessing for a little while...but then again, I could be wrong...

Re: Name that Game!
I love this whole forum game; even when I don't have the slightest clue about an entry, I end up learning about fascinating games I probably never would have seen otherwise.

Re: Name that Game!
Nope!
And it is fascinating when that happens, isn't it?
Very minor hint: the two screenshots are from two different maps...

Re: Name that Game!
Ahh! Sorry, I've been busy with work and totally forgot about this game. A few hints:
It is not The Exhibit.
It is sort of like the Exhibit, except from 10 years earlier and with strange, killer animals.
It is, as far as I can tell, coded and designed by one person.
It is obscure (no duh.)
And, just because it is so obscure, I'll tell you that the name of the game begins with the letter A and that it is no word I've ever heard of, if it is one.
It's also freeware.
Freeware now, that is. It was originally released as shareware.
Enough to be going on?
EDIT: Another screenshot:

Sorry I got nothing, I have never even seen something that reminds me of.

Had to resort to the reverse Google Image Search for this one, you are certainly right Timelady, it is very obscure!

Hah. Eh, and I'd say it's been over a week, if you can name it, take it, even after googling it.
