Your First...

Postby Elomin Sha » 25 Jun 2014, 08:01

I thought this would be interesting to see where it goes. Name your first [whatever] (only one at a time). If you want you could suggest to the following person: Your first book/holiday/etc.

My first anime: New Dominion Tank Police

My first attempt at writing was a godawful Douglas Adams ripoff about a lawyer who runs away to Ireland to escape a perceived mob hit. I wrote it in my sophomore math class because the teacher wouldn't let me read books, so I had to pretend I was taking notes.

My first imaginary friend was a girlfriend I made up in seventh grade in order to make a bully feel like an idiot. He was very impressed and completely changed his evaluation of me as a victim for about five minutes until the probing questions of the collective class made it obvious she was made up. Though I still held to my story for four years

The first game I ever played was Dungeons of Daggorath on my dad's Windows 95. That's how I spent most of my childhood, playing old games on my dad's old computer. Might explain why I'm time-locked in the 1980s.

Funnily enough, my first job was fighting the law, and I quit for the same reason.

First videogame I ever saw: Ice Climber at about age seven. In an unusual feat of mentalization I was able to be confused about the fact the players were able to react to monsters approaching behind the characters. I also hated videogames for the next five years because it was a new thing. (I used to be such an old man they gave me a gold watch when I was born.)
