Ob-Nixilis looks like a misprint to me. I mean, yeah, I can see 2 life, even three, but TEN? Even in Commander, that's a massive hit, and people search all the time in that.

Well, they ARE trying to discourage library shuffling these days...

Well, look at it this way:
It could have just said "Players can't search libraries" and that would have had precedent. This just allows you another (painful) way out.

I feel like sticking Ob Nix in EDH. I think he'll go into my theoretical Sheoldred deck.

If we do get fetch reprints in Khans, I'm going to make a BUG deck with Prophet of Kruphix and Ob Nix.

The EDH meta at my school has gotten a little combo-y lately. I think I need to bring in a new mono-black deck with Ob Nixilis Unchained as a wrecking ball.

Greater Good in spell form? Yes, please!
...I guess it could also be seen as half of Momentous Fall in both ability and cost, but I see more Greater Good than that.

Oh man, I was just about to pull the trigger on buying myself a new Battlefield Forge to replace the white bordered one I have in my commander deck. Now I get it in the new fancy border too? Fantastic.

Now I have to get yet another set of duals for my colours. Bleh.

Re: The M15 Super Special Awesome Spoiler Thread!
Ooh, Urborg, that'll be interesting. It's very deceptively good, I've run it in both Legacy and Modern. Just being able to tap mana confluence without the pain or a pain land for color without pain sets up some interesting mana fixing for black in standard.
I'm pretty sure everyone was already expecting black to get weaker in Khans, and I'd say this confirms it. Black will basically always have perfect mana, and be able to painlessly splash any other color. This isn't true for any other color.
Also, if we are indeed only getting enemy painlands in M15, this hints at one of a few things:
- Khans will be a wedge block. This has been in speculation for a while, because they've said Khans will do "something players want that they've never done before."
- Khans will reprint a cycle of allied lands (most likely pain or fetch, due to Urborg). (Again, Wizards has said Khans will also feature something returning that players have been asking for).
It is possible both of those will be true, or it's possible neither will be true. Urborg and enemy painlands do provide a few strong and interesting signals at what to expect in Khans, however.
Also, a nice thing about painlands, they should be very cheap to get, they've already been reprinted a ton. Old reprints, sure, but most game stores already have painlands galore.

One of the latest articles (specifically the one spoiling the pain lands) said Khans will definitely get duals, and pretty likely to be the allied to compliment M15's enemy'd. Will be interesting to see what they're doing for the sake of "balance."

It's hard to build a decent limited environment without some fixing of some kind, and reprinting a dual doesn't take up spell slots, so most sets are going to have duals of some flavor.

Could be a good excuse to reprint the allied fetches.

I am very underwhelmed by Jace. I don't know, maybe it will grow on me. I'm sort of happy not to see Memory Adept, though.

He doesn't seem super powerful, but over a longer game, every activation is basically a card (in the sense that you're getting rid of cards your don't want, so you're a card closer to a card you do want every time), and that's not nothing. Starting on 5 (and probably going straight to 6) is pretty nice, and the -3 can keep the pressure off for a turn as well. Seems ok in a hard control deck.

But what if both cards are cards you want? Then you're kind of screwed. You have to send one of them to the bin. I don't think that'd be all that rare in a control deck.
Here's my basic reaction from elsewhere:
I'd like him a lot more if his +1 was just "scry 2." Maybe even just 'scry 1' As it stands, he seems kind of eh. He can bounce something, which is nice. He kind of digs? The problem with his + is that it's not going to be uncommon that both are good cards and you HAVE to get rid of one. If they're both bad, it helps you get a bit further by getting rid of one of them. The only thing that really makes him not too bad is the fact he comes out huge. 5 with the power to go up to 6 right away is pretty huge for a walker, let alone a 4 drop.
As for his ultimate... great in EDH, kind of meh elsewhere I feel.
Thinking about it, it feels weird his last ability is basically anti-mill. It kind of makes sense from a Vorthos perspective since he seems to be trying to change, but it feels odd to me.

Re: The M15 Super Special Awesome Spoiler Thread!
I think Jace, the Living Guildpact is really good, but underwhelming compared to other Jaces. That ultimate just doesn't feel like a game-winner. In most cases it reads "Everyone shuffles their graveyard into their libraries, you draw seven cards," which is awesome, but... You know what? That's better than I think it is, and I think that initial "meh" is going to let people ult this Jace a lot more often than most planeswalkers get ulted.
Yeah, I think new-new-new-new Jace could be very good. He does not make a good first impression, though.

He probably takes the mantle of "the worst Jace" from Memory Adept, but he does have one redeeming quality, which is a short clock to ultimate.
Not very excited about him, but Nissa is good, and they're reprinting the good Chandra, and we still have Garruk to see.

Re: The M15 Super Special Awesome Spoiler Thread!
Aaaaaand new Jace seems a little underwhelming. Mill yourself for one, bounce someone else's stuff, or Time Spiral, but only you get the cards. I like how you're the only one that draws, but that seems to be the only good thing about it.
However, Constricting Sliver is absolutely BONQUERS! Cast Constricting, follow it up with a lot of Slivers to Banish the opponent's creatures, then use Hibernation Sliver's ability to bounce Constricting back to your hand, and...well, all of the other Slivers "forget" they ever had the ability. BAM! Instant board exile!

Constricting Sliver stacks, by the way. The second one makes each banish 2 creatures.

Re: The M15 Super Special Awesome Spoiler Thread!
Unfortunately, the way the ability works is it creates a time duration for the ability. Removing the ability does not prevent the exiled creatures from returning.
Now, if this were the old Oblivion Ring ability or something where it was split into two separate triggers, then the creatures will definitely stay in exile if you can get rid of the second one before the creature with said ability leaves the battlefield.
