Actually still to this day Internet explorer is the "standard" browser, something like 60% of web users are on IE.

But if it makes you feel better, yes, I use a browser that accounts for roughly 70% of web traffic from US Navy submarines. Its the Sub-standard.

It performed well it wasnt as good as I would have liked I think pod 2 had some bad packs. Myself and all three of my opponents were in white, and two of the three were in 3 colors.

I'd like to chime in and state that these large images also stretch the page on Firefox, forcing me to use an add-on to scale them down. So stop acting so smug.

Lord only knows what happens when I view them on Mobile Firefox. That add-on doesn't exist there.

Same here. Chrome is probably the only browser that resizes them automatically with any regularity.

Regarding image size when posting decks: I too have trouble with re-sizing the image while still making it easy to read. I like using the collapse tags now to hide the big image until someone is interested in looking at it. (I think I stole this from Dix).

While we're having this discussion, does this also cause problems for people regarding breaking the page (as it were), or does this work alright?

The page will break so long as the thing is open, but as soon as you collapse it again it goes back to normal. This is my preferred method for dealing with large pictures as well.

Went 1-2 this week. Not good, but I opened a Temple of Malady and was passed another, so it's not all bad (Malady has held it's value so is still like 4 tix).

So I haven't seen this posted in here yet but this is all the details outlining the MTGO M15 Prerelease and release events schedules:
http://magic.wizards.com/articles/archive/magic-online-2015-core-set-prerelease-and-release-events-2014-06-30

I think we'll definitely have to make sure we hit these up a bunch. Lets fill up a ton of pods like last time!

That was a lot of fun, even though it costs more I think the prerelease was a little more fun and less competitive.

IIRC, doesn't every MTGO account that's been online recently get a free M15 prerelease? It's part of a promotion on the occasion of the Beta becoming the one true MTGO client.

So, if anyone can make it, they'll have no excuse not to join!

Not a free prerelease per se, but according to the article, every player gets a free hunt-color-choice-entry-object-thing and enough phantom points to join a phantom prerelease sealed.

My only complaint? Why bother going for the Friendly events? The only difference between the two is the smaller prize pool. You still pay the same amount. I mean... I guess if you're so unsure of your skill that you might go 1-3, but even then...

Presumably the less confident people will choose the friendly ones, so the skill level of the competitive ones will be higher so maybe less chance of getting packs?

same reason as swiss vrs 8-4 in competitive the packs are focused top in friendly the packs are spread around.

I havent worked the math but they are probably the same prize pool just different distribution.

8-4s are single elimination though, these are both swiss.
If my maths is correct both payout 37 packs.

Assuming everyone plays it out and a win is awarded in every match, it's 37 total packs either way. I don't think there's any way for down-pairings to affect it.

notomtolose wrote:I don't think there's any way for down-pairings to affect it.

If either all 16 players make it to the end, or one person who has no wins drops, then the result should be the same 37 packs every time. (If one person with no wins drops, there'll be a bye, so it'll be the same as if they played it out but lost every match.)

However, if someone who has any wins drops, that will affect the result... similarly, if two people drop, that will also affect things. As now, you can get two people paired up who don't have the same number of points, so everything gets complicated.

For the most basic scenario, where we don't have to worry about whether the player who drops still gets their prizes for the rounds they completed (which I think they do, but I don't know for sure)... let's say it's in the Competitive structure, someone is 1-0 and drops (so they're not owed any packs either way)... the final prize payout could be any of: 31, 33, 36 or 37, depending on who wins in the games with mismatched pairings.
