It should go on the sheet automatically, but I haven't "approved" anything officially in weeks due to lack of time. :( If you've gotten Mod approval, go ahead and build, even if it's not on the sheet. The sheet is mainly so I can use it when I figure out that DAGGONE coding language to get more spots up and showing on the map, other than default Spawn.

May I build my home around (1777, 2607)?

That appears to be outside of the border that we're trying to keep. It would very likely be wiped (without warning). We're trying to keep the borders down for the releases that are changing the way the world generates.

Try to stick closer to spawn. Also, try not to explode outside what you see generated on the map already: http://map.lrrcraft.com/

Or no, sorry, I'm gonna go with the original request I submitted through the web form of (1865, 2624). Final answer. (Assuming it's accepted.)

None of those are within 2000 of spawn, so they'll likely be rejected.

Bah, the last one was within the range of other builds. I'll try again.

Yeah, there's a big building at (1897, 3130)... I dunno, at this point I'd appreciate it if one of the admin would just surprise me. ^^;

I don't see any current builds around that last one on the map. Just a couple chunks there and a couple chunks not generated. The closest thing I see is at 1177, 2152.

I don't see the big building you just mentioned. I can also be pretty blind. Could you screenshot it?

Really, just take a look at the map for a place you like that's generated and within 2,000 blocks of spawn. As long as you're not right on top of anybody it's usually okay.

edit: Actually I think I see it now. That's probably a leftover that was saved, seeing as there are deleted chunks surrounding it.

Ah, okay - so a lot of what I'm seeing is not actually there any more. (-1074, 1410)?

To me, that looks like a good place. Near my area (though I don't get to play much). I hopped in the server for the next bit in case you feel like logging back in.

I've taken a deeper look at the map, now that I've had some time to spare...

1897, 3130 was built before the need for imposing limits came about. (Too many chunks needing to be processed slows down the server, so unless you're willing to fork out the money to beef it up, having a spot way out in the boonies isn't really feasible.)

-1074, 1410 is a really good spot, as I'm currently in the process of getting a rail line installed in the surrounding area. If you are interested in getting back and forth from Spawn and other people's builds quickly, that would be the best spot.

These coordinates should be fine, should you choose to build there:

1777, 2607
1410, 3635
1865, 2624

However, as they're far away from Spawn, they will have less Support, and I also wouldn't like too much wandering off, as they're close to the edges, which get periodically trimmed. But if you just want to build and fend for yourself, go ahead.

These coordinates aren't really good:

2963, -1640: I'd rather you didn't but if you settle there, I won't argue. I just hope I don't accidentally delete your house in the next trim. If that happens, just yell at me and don't get on until it's repaired. (Updating the chunk by entering it will make it so I can't repair it anymore.)

FYI, DewKnight helped me get a hold of one of the mods and I started settling at (-1074, 1410). That being said, I really liked being close to a desert village, so I may end up moving since I haven't done much in terms of actually building my house yet.

By the way, what're the official borders that are subject to trimming?

Nothing hard and fast, but essentially... If it's not on the LRRcraft map currently, it'll likely be trimmed on the next go-around. Also, I think I'll trim some of the NW area beyond the snow, too.

OK, 5 Nether portals have been bedrocked as a temporary measure, until further notice. To get your portal usage back, I would like to speak with the parties involved to find out what happened and an explanation. I highly suspect most are innocent, and the "guilty" party is probably just a misunderstanding, too. However, since only one of the parties bothered to follow the rule of labeling their stuff, I don't know everyone who's involved. Therefore, I'm just taking the route of "figure out who complains first" to get some answers.

Having everything so tight together in the Nether makes it highly difficult to tell who did what, especially with no labels.

Hit me up on forum PM, IRC, or in-game if yours was a portal that was bedrocked so we can get this all sorted out.

um, is something wrong with the server? when I tried to log in, it says the server encountered an unexpected condition which prevents it from fulfilling the request.

Edit: Nvm figured it out.

Something got messed up at the cobbleworks. I mined it all out, walked across the steps and lava started coming out instead of blocks.

Sounds like lag and/or a misfire of the redstone timing. I'll log in and reset it to see if that helps.

Edit: Yep. That's all it needed. Just a reset.

Re: LRR Minecraft Server

Yeah, I had to remove that. If you want to fix it next time, here's what to do:

Put a block underneath each of the source blocks (lava and water) that are having problems.
Mine the cobble back until you get to your block.
Remove the block under the water source first.
Remove the block under the lava source.
After the first cobble forms, step on the plates.

Anyway, good news to all who were interested in Feed The Beast: I did a test run tonight.
It installed fine and I also got it working with Bukkit, so I can use plugins, too.
Because I used the same seed as LRRcraft, the world generated exactly as it did initially, except for what the mods changed. Therefore, until you get out to the 1.7 chunks, the terrain of the Overworld, Nether, and End should be familiar to everyone.

I still need to do a lot of configuration to get it workable, but that's just fiddling with settings.
However, now that I've found out it works on a technical level, the community comes in. I need to know whether I have both the interest and the monetary support for this server.

So, let me know here in the thread two things:
1. If you would be interested in playing on a Feed The Beast server.
2. If/how much you would be willing to chip in to keep the server running. (Costs are roughly the same to current server. If I run the new server with no new income, instead of the money drying up in late April, it'll dry up just before Desert Bus in November.)
