Yay, 1.8 :)

A question though, as for the modded server, the hermitcraft guys are setting up a 1.7.10 modpack which is probably a lot lighter than most FTB packs (and up to date). It is not released yet, but I would love if it could be considered as a pack.

Wow, the first thing I've notice is the subtle (yet useful) changes to the Debug Overlay. :)

And just for reference, I can't update things while I'm asleep guys. :P

I'll get to updating to 1.8 after I've done the server cull of unused chunks. (Doing this will help prevent Ocean Temples from popping in the middle of existing builds, too.)

I thought Ocean temples didn't generate if anyone spent a certain amount of time in any of the chunks? Not that I'm complaining about culling chunks, gimme those sweet sweet new blocks.

So, while we wait for the server to be updated, it appears that Banners are a new feature in 1.8. Some enterprising soul has made a generator for people to experiment without wasting the crafting materials, so, let's try and come up with the best LRR themed one. here is my 30 second one. still playing around.

My understanding is that if you reach a certain amount of time in a certain area, then the Monument will not generate, however the Guardians will spawn.

Once the server is updated, anyone up for tackling one of these?

Genghis: Yeah, I was planning on adding something like that to Spawn City. :)
My idea was a little more vertical, but it's the same basic thing.

Jewers, I would be happy to help hunt the guardians!

Also, with mobs now attacking iron golems, should we put up a higher wall so that an arrow won't accidentally hit a villager?

ugh, Just read about repairing items...I don't want to lose my favorite boots! I want to be able to keep repairing it forever!

You can also do this, but I wish the spaces around the banners were smaller. Perhaps they could look better against a different background.

Now that sponges are functional, quite useful, and also very limited in quantity, may I recommend adding them to the market? They'll be very handy for underwater construction.

I doubt this, but if anyone finds a Horse with Diamond Armor named "Charlie", can you bring him back to me?

EDIT: He has been found.

Hey, judging by Jewers' comment, the server was online. But when I went to look, it said the server was still on 1.7.10. Am I missing something, or is the server not actually online?

It has become a bit of a job in some aspects. Though, it's usually a job like LRR has a job: you love it, so the lines between "work" and "play" become blurry.

Welp... I thought it would be just a quick backup, trim the backup, update Minecraft, and load it back up. Then I found some weirdness in the End that was easily remedied. Then, I found some serious problems in the Nether that will take a while to resolve, let alone working on the Overworld. Server will be delayed in restarting until at least tomorrow evening. (I found dozens of Ghast fireballs just floating around in the air, and thousands of pigmen swimming under the deep lava, but not dying. This likely contributed to lag in some way.)

Another possibility is to have another Anarchy Night since none of the live data will be saved. Anyone up for that, let me know.

Anarchy Night entails anything you want, because nothing gets saved. You'll get creative mode, and you can fly around and do whatever you want to whatever. Blow stuff up, use lava, light stuff on fire, whatever. People had fun defacing the Hosk Wall last time.
