That sounds like a lot of fun, but does if it puts too much work on you I would vote against it.

Re: LRR Minecraft Server
No, it doesn't. I just open up the server and people can do whatever they want, and then I do what I was going to do anyway: overwrite the live data with the backup data I was already editing. Nothing gets saved. It'll be a roll back to earlier this evening, with slight modifications to certain chunks that I was going to delete before the 1.8 upgrade.

Little off the anarchy topic: just found this: http://mcgs.crummy.com/
a map consisting of 10k+ spawn chuncks of different maps put together, really awesome.

Re: LRR Minecraft Server
I pretty indifferent about "anarchy night". I've already got a single player creative world I use to scratch my wanton destruction itch, and even knowing full well that it's just for funsies and entirely temporary, I don't think I can bear to wreck any of the awesome builds on LRRcraft.
EDIT: Just to clarify though, the Omega Lair is fair game, as long as you take photos.
And since we're on the topic of... er... derailing the topic, I've also been messing around with banners.

I'm 90% sure I'll stick with the first one, but I figured I'd get some outside opinions.

This.
I was caught off guard with the last one, and it set off some of my anxiety issues, I spent the whole time desperately trying to rebuild my base while I had creative mode ( this was before I was a mod ).
I don't have a problem with it happening ( aside from being very anxious about the backup somehow failing or such ), I do appreciate knowing about it beforehand so I can avoid it.
and if anyone does decide to wreck my stuff during it, I'd really appreciate it if you could avoid posting pictures of it, it will just upset me. ( I realize that there's no actual lasting damage, and that getting upset by it is irrational , but its not just the logical part of my head that's effected by seeing something I've built ruined )
Thanks, and I hope everyone that chooses to participate has fun!

I think we can all be mature adults and respect someones wishes not to be shown pictures that might bother them. If he was asking mot to be shown pictures of clowns you wouldn't cover the thread in pictures o pennywise. But, I digress.
WHOOOOOOO! Creative! I'll build my Darksteel Citadel.

Then, I found some serious problems in the Nether that will take a while to resolve, let alone working on the Overworld. Server will be delayed in restarting until at least tomorrow evening. (I found dozens of Ghast fireballs just floating around in the air, and thousands of pigmen swimming under the deep lava, but not dying. This likely contributed to lag in some way.)

Re: LRR Minecraft Server
Does this mean an anarchy night is still possible or are we jumping straight to a persistent 1.8 server? Both are cool I'm just curious as to which is happening.

Re: LRR Minecraft Server
Both are still possible. If Anarchy Night happens, it'll be either tonight after work or tomorrow.

Re: LRR Minecraft Server
Alright... Edit is going slow but steady. Whenever I feel like taking a break from it, I'll open the server back up for "The Purge"
Whenever that turns out to be, I will have to shut it down at 8:30 PM EDT to prepare for the Fan Draft.

Re: LRR Minecraft Server
Update: Anarchy Night/The Purge is not happening tonight, due to time constraints with work and other obligations. But progress on 1.8 is indeed on-going. I should have the Nether worked out by the end of tonight, and I'll work on the overworld tomorrow. While I work on the overworld, that's when The Purge will take place.
