As a Mormon, I'd just like make it clear that some of the claims in that video are false.

It's a scene from The Adventures of Mark Twain. It's a claymation movie, apparently.

I have the sudden intrigue to watch it.

I'd like to make it clear that you said "some" of the claims, and not "the majority" or "all".

Therefore, I maintain that Mormonism is ridiculous, but only slightly moreso than other religions.

At least I enjoy learning about Mormonism.

shifting away from a religious debate, that video was way too intense for children. especially the end dialog. "you do not exist, people are worthless"

It wasn't a very good adaptation of Twain's "The Mysterious Stranger".

The actual novella is much, much more disturbing. The nasty faces of Satan were totally inappropriate - the whole point was that he remained lighthearted and jovial throughout.

They also left out the explanation of his name - he's the nephew of the "other" Satan, and was named after him before the Fall.

Good. Because one of my best friends is a mormon and I would loose major respect for her for believing in all of that. I know christianity is pretty screwed up at times, but man.

You'd kill yourself, rather than stop raping your sister? =O

As someone who currently is researching Mormonism full-time, I can assure people that most of this is fairly accurately representative of Mormon beleif. However it was made by an anti-Mormon group, so it does go a little far at times.
Some aspects of the video are things that have been taught by members of the Mormon heirarchy in the past, but are not really part of the way Mormon doctrine is usually interpreted by everyday Mormons (eg Jesus' wives).

So yes, some of the claims are innacurate. But most is fairly accurate.

(btw cake, do not take this post as being anti-Mormon. I am quite sympathetic towards Mormons and even spent a summer as a tour-guide at the Kirtland Temple).

And please dont lose respect for the Mormons. They are genuinely some of the nicest people around.

Make it seem more exclusive and hard to come by, thus more views. Or they are just idiots.

I'm not gonna watch the video again. But back in July I did write the word "some." I'm pretty sure that's because some of it was false. Not everything. I'm not saying this with a stern tone, or a defensive tone at all. Just stating it is all.
