Oh, don't worry. This character interaction is BEAUTIFUL

I hope you guys will forgive my poor delivery of information so far - it's been a long time since I've run a game and I'm still trying to get back into the swing of things.
Re: Heroes Unlimited Play By Post?
I've been following the game play thread and you seem to be doing pretty good to me. At least I've really enjoyed it.

Re: Heroes Unlimited Play By Post?
Based on my rudimentary knowledge of the rules, it sounds like doing so would consume your action for the turn. I don't think there's much distance for you to cover.

Not exactly like I have another action I could be doing, having brought one weapon with me and having given it away

Re: Heroes Unlimited Play By Post?
When your turn comes around again, you should be able to get to and pick up the super soaker... resin launcher... goop gun. You didn't name your invention, did you?
Re: Heroes Unlimited Play By Post?
That I did not, it is only a prototype. Arguably the invention is more the resin and solvent than the gun itself.

Re: Heroes Unlimited Play By Post?
First blood has been drawn on a player! Now the question arises - how do you folks want to handle tracking damage? Would you like me to just describe the injuries and keep the hard numbers to myself, or another arrangement? I've created a strawpoll, which each player will find waiting in their inbox. If for whatever reason the link didn't work or you can't get to it, you can also contact me on Twitch with the same username. =)

Re: Heroes Unlimited Play By Post?
While keeping numbers out of it is all well and good for roleplaying purposes, I would like to be able to keep track of how close I am to death.

Re: Heroes Unlimited Play By Post?
Since keeping numbers out of it got the most votes, I figured we could compromise and keep them out of the gameplay thread where appropriate, but those who wanted exact numbers could "opt in", and I would keep them up to date via PM. Does that sound okay?
Re: Heroes Unlimited Play By Post?
I agree with Prosperous. I tend to think knowing how close you are to dying is quite important, as you would most likely take steps to prevent it....or at least try to.
The solution you offer, sending damage by pm, sounds great to me.
I choose to opt in for receiving pms letting me know the damage I have taken.
Thank you for making the offer!

I'd hate to give you even more work to do, Atifexe, but getting numbers for my health would help me greatly.

Wait, if both of you want the numbers then how did no one gets the numbers get the most votes...

Re: Heroes Unlimited Play By Post?
Presumably you, Ix, and Tzmisce all voted for the other one? And Atifexe probably had a vote too.

Re: Heroes Unlimited Play By Post?
I refrained from casting a vote. The one with the most votes had two, with one vote for each of the other three options. =P So the majority want numbers, but aren't in agreement about how to get them, which is why I'm hoping this opt-in method will work for everyone.
Edit: And after rolling two critical successes in a row on the robots' actions, I rolled a critical failure for the one attempting to grab Dougie, followed by a failure on its attempt to prevent itself from falling. Yay, randomness!

Okay, kids! Time to gather around the fire and hear the story of stochastic systems!

Re: Heroes Unlimited Play By Post?
Because it was dropped instead of being tossed to you, you'll have to spend an action to pick it up. You won't be able to fire it in the same turn. You will, however, easily have the ability to make it behind the same corner as Kenji, if you wish; you'll have to move further past him so you won't be able to lean and shoot, but you can get yourself out of the open. The robots haven't identified you as a threat, so it's up to you whether or not you feel that's necessary.

Me, although I was waiting for Atifexe to respond to your action. If nothing comes up by this afternoon, I'll post my action then
