Anyone up for a game of Kingdom?

Postby Omnicrat » 14 Jan 2015, 23:55

For those who don't know, Kingdom is a DMless RPG in which the players cooperatively guide a "kingdom" through a series of trials and tribulations till they decide to stop playing or the kingdom falls. The game can be purchased here along with a brief description: http://www.lamemage.com/kingdom/

I already have it and can explain the rules better if there is interest and if the rules cannot be purchased or "found" by said interested parties.

While it says 2-5 players, you really need a minimum of 3 and from what I understand the more players the better.

So, any interest?

If by "logistics" you mean use of index cards online and ability to communicate, the answer is a websight that pretty much lets you use online cards for things and the text chat of skype.

Might I suggest Roll20? It has everything you need all in one place, including index cards (of a sort) and text chat.
It's all over but the crying. And the taxes.

Never really got the hang of roll20, myself. Used it once for a game that never went anywhere. If you would be playing, then I'm sure you could talk us through the basics of it. Otherwise I'll stick to what I know.

i'm a little confused how the whole thing runs
from my meager understanding we each take up a role in whatever setting we are playing in? and then we all decide what we are doing when crossroads come up? or all have a certain roll when they come up?

there are 3 rolls. One decides how the Kingdom feels about a certain path, one decides the consequences of taking a certain path, and one decides which path is taken. Once the crossroad gets to the resolution stage, the person with Power decides what happens and the kingdom feels about it and responses happen to it based on what the other players said.

Get the gist of that?

Well, since thats 3 people saying interest (including me) AFTER I asked all still interested parties to say something three days ago, you definitely seem to be in. Everyone okay with waiting another few days to a week to see if anyone else wants to play? 3 is the minimum so we're good to go but some interesting things can happen when you have more than one person in each roll.

Vgmaster831, you still interested? You really need at least 3 people for this to work

Just wanted to be clear that this is still a thing (assuming Knight still wants to do this) and we are waiting on a third player.

To knight: The Kingmaker game on giantitp isn't a replacement to this for me, at least.
