Ah, Trooper. Should've mentioned that.

Huh, guess I should probably roll a republic side alt in that case. Which would also help ensure that my agent doesn't get too far ahead of the people planning on maining Imperials.
EDIT: and done; Smuggler captain Kiamina is now up and running.
Because apparently I have a thing for the 'rogue-y' classes.

So i just rolled a Jedi Knight and a sith warrior. They will both be the tank type characters. Jedi: Darimoun Sith: Farquenis. I can make up to six characters and am preferred status generally. Skype name steven.plovan1 if you wanna chat while leveling or whatever

I've rolled a Sith Warrior on Ebon Hawk(US), called Mordesta.

Re: Star Wars the Old Republic
So how's everyone been getting on? I've managed to get off the starting planets over the long weekend, but not got more than halfway through the seconds on either character. Also turns out I'd forgotten how much of a pain Coruscant's datacrons can be.
One thing I have noticed is that I've been having a few issues of losing connection (which I've had with online games in the past). These usually only throw me out for a couple of minutes, so it hasn't been a significant problem so far.

Hermano de Espanyo is returning home as we speak. Will roll a character at some point. My first priority is to watch lots of crap on the internet to distract myself.

I'm re-installing Origin and ToR after reformatting my computer today. I'm only level 2 so far, but have been itching to get back onto my char and keep leveling, which is a good sign to me.

Sounds good. Let me know when you get to Dromand Kaas and feel like doing any of the heroics.

Is it definitely spelled that way? The friend list function is telling me that name doesn't exist.

I also have a Jedi Knight named Pala'Mor, she's level 10 and just about to head to Coruscant.

Okay, I'll keep an eye out. I have cleared both the [Heroic 2] quests* so if those aren't repeatable I may not be too much help at first which are repeatable so I can run through them again if needed. Also if anyone needs someone to keep the mobs occupied while navigating the obnoxious platforming that is Coruscant datacron hunting I'd be up for it
With regards to Skype, I don't have a microphone so it's unlikely anyone would get more out of me through that than they would through the in-game client.
*one solo and the other with some randomer who decided to celebrate completing it by trying to rush the world boss at level 12 and immediately getting one-shotted.

Something that occurs to me (after having had a few times where I've logged-in just as someone else is logging off) is that it might be worth getting some idea of what times people are going to be online.

I am potentially online 5pm -> 11pm Weekdays.
Depends on my interest in playing.
I annoyingly had to log off when someone logged on before. I've yet chatted.

UK time, yes? If so I'm in similar potential hours, although Friday evenings I can go later.
Yeah, I think that might have been me; I seem to have developed a knack for doing this. Myabe it's worth my looking the skype thing might be worth looking into, if just as a way to avoid missing everyone

Re: Star Wars the Old Republic
Well, we have a double XP week going, which should help with the levelling for people.
I'll likely be online around 7:30-8pm on the Imperial side this evening (Uk time), in case anyone wants join-up.

I used to hate out leveling planets.
But after the nth "Imperial Soldier sucks at its job" quest, I now enjoy out leveling. Means I can do the interesting storyline quests.
I welcome our temporary double EXP overlords.

I dunno. Maybe it's because I never played that far into it last time around, so a lot of the stuff is virgin territory for me, but the out-levelling still feels a bit odd. May hold back a bit on playing for a while - although as I think I'm still a bit ahead of everyone else (into Chapter 1 proper with both characters) that might allow for people to catch up.

I have played a character to 50, a character to 3x and 26. So maybe I find these side-quests sometimes a bit, unexciting.
Also a long MMO career.

Fair enough. After having encountered Taris on the republic side of things (which seems to be fetch-quest capital of the galaxy) I may be starting to see your point
Anyway, if anyone else is up to Taris (republic side) or Balmorra (Empire) let me know.

I find with MMOs, only do quests if you want to do them.
Otherwise you get burn out forcing yourself through them. As in, if you do the content another time, you'll shudder.
I won't play Republic as I've seen too much of it.

Well, double-XP week is over. Normality returns.
I'll probably be online in a couple of hours, if anyone is interested.

Re: Star Wars the Old Republic
So I had some free evenings over the last week and, well, Farian (my agent) is now level 29-ish and some way into Alderaan. Turns out that liberal application of Suppression Fire is startlingly effective at clearing out most groups of enemies.
My smuggler (Kiamina) is still hanging around the early Nar Shadaa.

I've been distracted by Dragon Age Inquisition.
I've been trying to burn through planets I have already quested as on my other Inquisitor.

Re: Star Wars the Old Republic
So, finished the Chapter I of the Agent story. The last stage was actually very well-done (even if you can spot The Thing coming from kilometres away). In fact by and large the Agent storyline seems pretty darn well put-together, beyond just being 'totalitarian James Bond in space'. Serviceable plot, a number of good supporting characters, some of the more interesting choices I've seen from Bioware games; so far it's definitely looking promising. I'm interested to see where it goes from here, once I move on to Chapter 2 proper.
Right now though, Farian is going to take a little time off from active duty, at least until some other people have hit a similar level/point in their story-line. On the off-chance we actually manage to get a group going at some point (if for no other reason than social points)
Plus at some point I'm going to have to bite the bullet and switch to the 'extended quickbars' UI option, because I need some way to manage this plethora of abilities without having to mess around scrolling through things.
