If anyone has ever seen this show on NBC, Chris Hansen and an organization called Perverted-Justice set up decoys in chat rooms, and wait to be hit on by old men.

They then set up meetings, and when the dudes come to the house to have sex with these young girls and boys [actually decoys] Chris Hansen watlzs up, and owns them.
The pervs then get arrested.

Good show. I've been addicted to it as of late.

I believe there was some controvercy over that; a few of those guys saw the cameras and instead of opening the door, they commited suicide.

I was watching that yesterday night, and was really intrigued by all the different guys' reactions. Some were trying to cover their asses by saying that they weren't after anything sexually, and others just broke down and bawled, saying how much they were sorry and just didn't want to go to jail. Either way it's just about the most pathetic stuff I've ever seen.

This is yet another reason I'm so protective over my little sister and try to watch how she does stuff on Myspace and such (my parents really can't, they don't know much about computers)

paying for my own phone line & my own internet service was all the "protection" I ever needed.

I find this "non-prosecuting" thing pretty silly. So if I chatted to have sex with the police chief's 10 year old daughter from my house & showed up at her house, as long as I didn't actually DO anything when I got there I couldn't get in trouble? I saw either this show, or a similar show a while back and they were arresting the guys. I was thinking that they didn't actually DO anything yet so I didn't get why they were going to jail. Then they were talking to the guy and they said that he sent really explicit letters and pictures of his naked body after he found out the girl was like 12. i guess that was the big no-no.

It is illegal to talk to someone on the internet that you know is underage, in a sexual manner.
Also, to transfer harmful or sexually explicit images or videos to minors.

So already, all these guys have broken the law.
What makes it worse, is they come to the house, with intent.
And that's also illegal.
