Just entered another Rotisserie draft with different people. I might be becoming addicted to this format.

There is a certain joy about watching the other picks and taking cards that work against them. But as long as you can double queue...

Paging Mr. phlip. Mr. phlip. Please report to the draft.

(I'm sorry, guys. I think I jinxed that whole "reasonable clip" thing.)

(I'll admit I have patience problems. Even though I was the one who suggested "at your own pace". That seems to bite me in the butt.)

Yes, but 12 hours is a reasonable wait, I'd say.

If by 12 hours you mean, like, 10, and those 10 happen to include the 8 where I am asleep...

I check before I go to bed, it's not on me yet. Sleep, wake up, commute to work, check again as soon as I arrive, and I've already got people hassling me for taking so long?

Look. Like I said, I have patience problems. I'm sorry. It felt like we were making good time, then a bit of a road block. Just felt a bit jarring. Honestly, I should be used to that.

Can we agree on an appropriate length of time to wait before gently reminding the next person that it is their turn to make a pick? Not to jump on them and declare that they are at fault for not having made their pick, but just to remind them that it's their turn in case some miscommunication has happened and they thought they were waiting on someone else.

How about 48 hours?

I will say that I do find the fact that people are throwing up nicknames for the cards they pick amusing. No comment on the Mox, though.

Fun fact: it was thinking about the joke and considering putting "Ancestral Recall" that reminded me that Treasure Cruise was available (I'd somehow missed it looking at the available cards)...

Dont ever let anyone tell you that jokesmanship will get you nowhere in life.

Wait... I just realised. Triton Fortune Hunter is an uncommon.

Judge!

Erm... by which I mean... what are we going to do?

Hmm... Mandatory swap for another Triton? Wavecrash Triton has the same mana cost.

welp :<

eh, let duckay just change it out for another pick when it's their turn again.

it's a minor disadvantage for them, but it shouldn't matter too much, as there is not that much competition in the blue control stuff they're drafting.

(alternatively, dq and I get to pick up all that blue ;P )

remember to check your picks on page 2 of the spreadsheet, that would've prevented this happening in the first place. I tried to pick a duplicate today as well but I noticed thanks to the second page =)

Yeah, I feel it's fair to force Duckay to make a swap from the current pool. Getting two picks is pretty big, but he essentially passed on his 10th pick. I'm not sure if this will balance well, but we'll see.

Alternately, we could restart the snake from Duckay's spot. But that might make things too complicated, especially since we still have the pick order second sheet, and I don't want to mess with that.

Also:

Atifexe wrote:Hmm... Mandatory swap for another Triton? Wavecrash Triton has the same mana cost.

Duckay already took Wavecrash. He's not getting 2.

Ah, damn. I had been checking on Gatherer so I could sort the blue cards to my liking and I just made that pick from memory, I guess I saw Wavecrash Triton in my picks and thought they were the same rarity.

It's cool, whenever you guys think I should swap it out, I have another pick in mind.
