Rise of the Eldrazi Flashback Draft

Postby theycallmejokke » 15 Aug 2015, 05:50

Hallo LRR

So I'm really looking forward to the Rise of the Eldrazi Flashback Drafts on MTGO that starts here the 26 th. I've looked over the set on gatherer and it looks really fun.

However I've never drafted this set before, so I wanted to hear if anyone here on the forum had any advise about drafting these cards, you know fun combos, traps to avoid, and so on.

The set's level up mechanic especially really have me intrigued, and seems like a fun thing to play around with, buuut like with enchanments it also just really looks like a good way to two-for-one one self (well technically not two-for-one, but you can invest a lot of mana in a level up creature).

Cheers!

I'd read this article. It's pretty informative.

The basic trap of Rise of the Eldrazi is that a vanilla 2/2 for 2 mana is unplayable, instead of playable. You want to focus on building a deck that'll play well in the late game. The set plays battlecruiser magic, where both players throw big haymakers until the other one dies.

Thanks for the article Asthanius, it will be super helpful to read, and thanks for the intel Volafortis, I'll have to keep that in mind then when the 26 th. swings around.
