Friday Nights: Throwback

The crew hosts a throwback draft of the original Zendikar while reminiscing about their favorite decks from way back when. You know, all the best strategies: Kobolds, Homarids, and turn one Grey Ogres.

Was reeeeaaaally expecting all of the packs to have been opened. Then was reeeeally expecting Jer in the stinger.
Good episode! I was definitely a blue player 'back in the day' (Ice Age, Homelands, Fallen Empires, 4th ed. mostly). Tons of counterspells and fiddles 'laces and zero ways to win the game, yay!

The sound of the James scraping that card on the pavement made my brain hurt. : (

We never played on the pavement, but the cards probably soaked up a ton of years-old spit from the band-room floor.

The smashcut to Graham awkwardly whispering Zendikar in Cam's ear made me laugh like a nutcase.

Or train ferry? The lrr crew do talk about taking ferries more than using bridges to get to the mainland.

Re: Friday Nights: Throwback
My first deck that I made doesn't really hold as much emotional attachment for me as the deck that I retooled it into, mostly because it wasn't well made. The deck that holds my nostalgia was during scars/innistrad standard, elfball delivering craterhoof.
My Youtube Channel. Currently, I have a daily series where I play games that I like. Right now, it's Double Dragon Advance. I also have a weekly series where I play as the Archenemy from Duels 2012

My favorite deck was mono red elementals, it was awesome, sure if they killed your Smokebraider or your Brighthearth Banneret it could be hard to cast Hostility, which meant that all the work had to be done by Flamekin Brawler or Flamekin Bladewhirl but it was sweet! Also, I know that Black Lotus wasn't real, but never do that again, please.

We may have to challenge James's Texmexproof in January.

So, Paul goes to Graham's place, they both go to Cam's place, Alex shows up in the middle, and they go to James's place.
Is Alex a homeless magic player in Friday Nights or does he just appear like the a magic playing Great Gazoo?

It finally happened. Years after he said. " I have flash?" Jer finally has Flash.

There are no bridges or tunnels between Vancouver Island and the Mainland so you do have to take a ferry (or fly but that is quite expensive). There are two railways on Vancouver Island so there are rail ferries and barges to transport rail cars between the Mainland and the Island. However, these ferries and barges only carry freight cars as well as truck trailers. My father was one of the masters (captains) on these ferries.
We are all made of star dust. However we are also made of nuclear waste.

Thus the joke.
Looks like Jer showed up for the Spoooooooky Murder Mystery draft, but no mention of when he jumped on the train in this ep
