That ones just begging for some editing.
I want to fire up Krita right now but I dont have inspiration as to what to compose out of it.
A big explosion is the obvious choice.

There was one sent round to the Kickstarter backers that Maki drew (and which is still my current background), it could be worth asking Graham if that could go 'public domain' now.

Not LRR related, but...
Nothin' fancy, but it gets the job done and doesn't obscure any of my icons (and similarly, none of the icons obscure the picture).

I'd doubt it, as it's specific to backers, but you can't hurt to ask.My pseudonym is Ix wrote:There was one sent round to the Kickstarter backers that Maki drew (and which is still my current background), it could be worth asking Graham if that could go 'public domain' now.

Re: LRR Desktop backgrounds share thread
By the way, does anyone still have the old 64K wallpapers anywhere?
I remember seeing a post by Graham(?) that was supposed to contain some 64K wallpapers, but the images were broken.
Anyway, the Desert Bus photos feed has some great wallpaper-worthy material.

Re: LRR Desktop backgrounds share thread
For me, since I have DeskScapes installed (Yes... I paid the $10 to have dynamic / animated wallpaper), basic wallpapers don't seem to do for me...
Are there any video clips anybody knows that can be seamlessly looped into a background (the software I have will handle the conversion)? I must stress seamless, since my eyes will jump towards the sudden change in the loop & avoid watermarks as well (another pet peeve for animated wallpapers).

hmm...thats a tricky one. Video footage rarely loops naturally without a heck of a lot of editing.
Maybe you would have more luck looking for videos that would look good when "bounced" back and forward? (start>>end<<start>>end etc).
Not that I have any suggestions for that either.

Re: LRR Desktop backgrounds share thread
I find it strange that you wouldn't seek out one of the many free ways of having an animated background(Windows 7 even has DreamScene built in; it just lacks a couple of DLLs that stop it from being available on a clean install), but anyway, as for flawless video loops, although that's very hard to do for single-shot live action clips(Especially at the high resolutions you'd be looking for), if you choose a clip that has a lot of angle changes(Like on a live DVD, or an action scene in a film), or you go for animation, it should be fairly simple to get working.
One thing that could work would be to have an X Ways To Y video silently playing.

Or a scene from Limitless;

Re: LRR Desktop backgrounds share thread
If I recall, Alex made a psychodelic freaky website that could serve as the Worst Animated Desktop Ever. I've long since lost the link.
