edit- Oh, where is my forum etiquette...

I haven't - I've been to GenCon, which is a board and card game focused convention here in the US, and what typically happens when I go there is I bumble around aimlessly, occasionally running into people I know who are doing things and then I do those things. That said, the GenCon events schedule seems a bit larger than the PAX Aus one, or perhaps just broken down into smaller units.
A surgeon and a nurse are finishing a patient, and the nurse is about to stitch him up. The surgeon says "no, give that here, I'll close." The nurse shrugs, "Suture yourself."

Oh, GenCon is WAY bigger than PAX Aus. Frankly, Australia's not big enough for a GenCon sized thing. OK, the only MUST do things are.

Storytime with Warren Spector: Friday 10:30-11:30 Main Theatre. Note that it has its own separate line from the queue room, so go to the main theatre directly, not to the queue room!
First PA Q&A: Friday 11:30-12:45 Main Theatre. Happens directly after Storytime. I think I'd never go to two of these, one is enough, but it's the show opener in many ways.
Omegathon Final Round & Closing CeremonySunday, 5:30-6:30 main theatre. This is the show closer and it's always packed, get in early if you can. It's how everything wraps up and is in many ways the most important part of the show.

Other than that?

I think the Vox Ludi panel is going to be very interesting; it would have been scheduled before the acting guild showdown with devs started, but it's dead on topic.

Beyond that I don't think there's anything leaping out at me this year. I'd say just browse, try everything that looks fun. Be sure to join Korvys and I for JS Joust which is seriously how we spend SO MUCH TIME at PAX. Best game ever.

I don't know if there would be any interest in a Fiasco or two over the course of the weekend, but given how low impact bringing the necessary materials is, I'll probably be prepared for it.

Thanks for the tips on panels, I'll be sure to check those out.

Hey guys,

I know I'm super late to this but I'll be at PaxAus and, courtesy of LRR, I will have a booster box of BFZ (Twitch name lanceheyen I won one of the Magic prizes from the MTG hype stream). I figure seen as I got it from LRR its only fair to share it with other Australian Runners. So....

Is a Magic session happening still and would there be room for one more and a BFZ draft?

So, I finally created an account on this forum just to say I'm coming to PAXAUS too! Though like everything else I completely left it until the last minute to organize anything, so I'll be walking around in a Desert Bus shirt, that'll do! Hopefully see some others around the place over the 3 days.

Also, Hi. Haven't been a forum regular for years, tend to find myself lost in them...

@Mr. Wizard & Carpenteria:

Not too late, fill in the survey to at least let us know if you want to jump in.

Loading Ready Run PAL UP: Saturday 12:15-13:30 at Bangpop.

A PAX Conspiracy: Sunday 10-12am in Tabletop.

Mr. Wizard, if you want to run a BfZ draft, I might be up for it depending on time. :)

Fun survey!

Unfortunately I just remembered I'm with some others who for some reason haven't been properly introduced to LRR yet, so I might check when/where/what they are doing before I make any other plans. To be continued...

Also: Totally not a Melbourne local, Bangpop nearby to the convention center I imagine?

Well, the convention centre is pretty big, but Bangpop is about 10 seconds walk from one end.

So, yes.

@Carpenteria: The main thing is to let me know, ideally by tomorrow, if you're coming to the lunch, since we'll need to adjust the lunch booking.

Hey guys, filled in the survey and can be there for both the meets but happy to not actually draft if it puts the numbers out or, if we have enough for 2 drafts then we can crack some BFZ at the same time. Happy to play it by ear

Ugh, it's like herding cats with a particularly grumpy ferret. Finding it hard to reach a consensus amongst my PAX going peers, so rather than muck you all around I'll pull out for now, though I'll keep an eye on this thread in case my situation improves.

Might see if I can't at least get to the tabletop area on Sunday, if only to meet and watch!

Those times should work for me. Forgot to post until now. Still using the #paxlrr twitter tag for communication?

Sounds like a plan. Unless someone can think of a better idea.
