Back home covering the film festival with my mates, I'm having a blast! It's been over a year since I visited. I really do miss the sea.

Remember by your very own Atom Egoyan, Canada. Best movie of the year, or at any rate Top 5. Check it out if you get the chance.

Had awesome visit to Catalonia.
I have strong friendships there.
Living there is a plausibility.
Returning again or them visiting even more so.
I need to visit alone.

Re: The thread of win
So, big win on our side yesterday...
My wife and I put in an offer on a lovely house just outside the city, sitting on just over a full acre of land. There are some neighbours across the road, and cows within sight of our yard.
Now we just need everything to line up so that we can actually buy the place...

So, I've got to double-check and confirm a few things before it's finalized, but... I've got a job! A real one that's not commission and pays money!

Had a twitter message yesterday. Zippi is having an article written about art and space. I was asked to have my work shown and to write a small bit for said article.
The most unique, nicest, and confusing individual you will get to know. Don't be stupid around me, that's my job.

My script for a teaser/ad has been optioned, and it's totally getting done! I'm happy. I haven't had a movie credit in a while.

Re: The thread of win
At church today, something that changed my day for the better. Every week, I always make an effort to greet Sparky, a 19-year-old non-verbal autistic young man. I said "Hi Sparky. How you doing?" As usual, I saw a light in his eyes that I knew meant he appreciated my greeting. When he said "Fine. Thank you." about 2 minutes later, I was floored. I've never heard him speak in the 11 years I've known him. This was a day-changer.

Now, this is probably not much to anyone good at soldering, but I pulled apart my headphones, stripped the end of the broken wire and resoldered the connection. Its my fifth ever attempt at soldering and my second ever successful attempt, and it feels really good to have them working again and to have done that.
(Before and after shot collapsed 'cos large)
I did scorch the insulation on the wire along a bit, but it works and most importantly, I didn't burn myself!

Re: The thread of win
Well, let me put it this way. 3 PM, I didn't even know about the company. By 5:45 PM, I had a job that starts Monday with them. Huzzah! Video Game Tech Support, here I come!
Then, I had dinner out with my mom, and then we watched Jurassic World, which was great.

SAMURAI JACK IS RETURNING. SO EXCITE. WOW. And it's Adult Swim this time, so episodes can be really dark if necessary.
Literally the only downside to this is that Mako Iwamatsu, Aku's original voice actor, is dead.
Did I mention that I am really excited?

Re: The thread of win
Resoldered the OTHER side of my headphones, and they work again again. I think I may have weakened the other side when I was investigating the first time.
I'm getting better at soldering, so there are fewer types of DIY in which I'm not at least vaguely competent.

A) I've lost some weight yay! (like one pound, but that's still one pound less than I was three weeks ago so woot!)
B) Bebop gave me some cookbooks that totally help me get inspired to cook new things while still on a diet
C) X-mas is around the corner and I'm sort of excited
