The terror that happens in the world and how the media has a biased.

I thought I could do my own personal Facebook filter for all the stuffs. But then I realised my profile picture would just end up being completely white/black.*

*because of all the filters I would add and eventually add.

Wow.

I'm practically dizzy with anger and disgust right now.

A friend I knew from some time ago just did something unforgivable. I'm not going into details, but he told me something he definitely had no right to. It is a total betrayal.

He is now only the second person EVER that I have blocked on Facebook. I am done with him.

Ever have a friend for so long, and you realize after it's over, "Wow, I got absolutely nothing about of being friends with them?" I've never had that happen... until now.

You took a really good day and ruined it. I'd say it was nice knowing you, but it wasn't. It was never, ever worth it. Not even once. May our paths never cross again.

EDIT: And here I go, making the Facebook post I was going to make the post I was GONNA make until he messaged me... pretending I'm still as happy as I was.

And... I'm starting to feel better already.

You know what? If I didn't hate you before, I sure as fuck hate you now.

How DARE YOU give my boyfriend shit about his weight. I don't care if you think you're being helpful or only looking out for his best interests, the way you're going about it is emotionally abusing. Plain and simple. And yet you accuse HIM of being a bully?

You are a sad, pathetic, manipulative old cow who makes everyone around her absolutely fucking miserable.

And lady you had better count your god damn blessings that you don't ever have to meet me, because I would give you ABSOLUTE FUCKING HELL for pulling this shit on the man I love and his family.

Braavos is so much cooler than Westeros! Goddamn it! How am I supposed to care about anyone in Westeros when Braavos is so much more interesting? But there's only one character there! I don't care what Cersei thinks about her funeral dress! ARGH!!!!!

It's like spending your whole life in rainy olde England and then finally one day going on vacation in Italy and never wanting to return home.

Yeah, so I went on out and drove my cab with 'winter storm warnings' - it was quiet in the morning (schools and gov't offices closed, not much of a morning commute) and the weather really wasn't bad. Then about 11am the wind picked up and white-outs were getting common (and it seemed the city stopped plowing anything :^( ), but it was still quite manageable; I just took my time and got people home from this mall or that store or this office, non-stop with getting my next fare dispatched to me before I could drop my current one off. So be it. Pretty tired after it was over, but I'd had a profitable day - apparently lots of cabbies were bailing for the stormy weather, so more people for ME to drive. ;)

By the time I was done, I'd heard from my night driver that he wouldn't be going out (didn't blame him; there'd be little if any work - it was slowing down when I signed out at suppertime), but as I brought the cab home, I realized I'd have to dig the driveway out to make room for it. Checking with my broker, he was going to go out in the evening anyways, so I had time (good thing too because the plow came by twice while I was slogging through about 10-11 inches of snow, plus a taller pile of ice/snow boulders plowed up by the city. After an hour and a half of work, I'd cleared out - by my estimates - over two hundred billion snowflakes - and about two billion more had drifted in again ;^), so he'd have somewhere to park the cab.

And sure enough, I start off today and it's pretty busy too, but I still manage to find the time to listen to the radio, and hear that all that I endured yesterday was a record-breaking 24hr snowfall

Ouch?

Oh and happy birthday, Liz; have a couple of dead celebrities. :(

(in addition to which, Doris "she'd been a prominent actress for DECADES before that 90's sitcom pabulum, dammit" Roberts died three days ago, too)

Reading an article on child molesters and I am not sure if I feel more depressed or venomously angry right now. The denial involved is astonishing, simply... beyond my own comprehension.

That child molesters try to defend themselves by saying that kids not liking sex is a lie that 'the man'/society has imposed on us all, and that really a lot of children love sex. Claiming that they are 'child lovers' and would never harm a child.

Sickens me to the bone...

You got in just ahead of me on that reference ;-) For those who haven't read it, Humbert spends a large section of the early book detailing the differences between regular children and the 'nymphets' who he pursues. Nabokov intended the presentation as a parody, to ridicule the idea (which was present even in his time) by casting a light upon it, but unfortunately it's turned into something of a self-validation argument in those kind of circles. Deeply sad.

I now have a job in retail.

I dislike greatly people who buy lots of bottled water when they have no legit reason to.
It hurts my back scanning it.

I don't mind the customers. I just mind some of the pointless crap they buy or annoying crap.

I really dislike these magazines marketed towards women called "HAVE A BREAK" and the cover articles are "LIFE IS SHIT BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE SHIT AND DEATH" with a smiley happy woman on the front.

An English teacher for foreign people, or a foreigner in another country who teaches English? I thought it was the latter

I have been paying far too much tax. Hopefully the British tax system works as it is supposed to and I get a refund.

Disclaimer: This is not directed at (and hopefully doesn't apply to) anyone on this forum, in LRR Chat, in LRR itself, etc.

Now then...

I'm getting sick and tired of people who call others "intolerant" when all that's happening is that they have a difference of belief or opinion. Saying that you believe someone is wrong doesn't make you intolerant. If you've got a theist and an atheist, each believes the other is wrong. That belief by itself is not "intolerance."

Now, granted, there is real intolerance in the world, but I think some people take it way too far and frame that anyone who doesn't believe and think exactly the way they do as "intolerant," which really pisses me off. You could extend this to a ridiculous extreme...

A: Dark Souls is a great game.
B: I think Dark Souls sucks.
A: YOU'RE BEING INTOLERANT!

...

OK, having seen some Dark Souls chats, maybe that's not as an unlikely scenario as I first envisioned...

Great, and now my backup disk (Which also contained some stuff I don't have anywhere else anymore) became disconnected and dropped to the floor while I was accessing it. It generated some windows errors and now it won't even open at all. It just freezes windows explorer when I plug it in...

Seems the File Allocation Tables got corrupted... Great.
I am currently using a file recovery program to hopefully save some data, but it seems the disk may be doomed. And it was practically new :(

Someone's trying to case the neighborhood for robberies, according to the police. :-(

I'm glad my mom's dogs scared him off, for now, at least.

I come with a petty vent... but I do wish people could keep their traps shut about spoilers on public channels, like Facebook and Twitter.

It's not petty -- movies are really expensive to see. Anyone who doesn't think spoilers are a big deal needs to learn common decency.

On a related note I wish to vent on how expensive cinema tickets are in the United Kingdom. I paid £11.50 last Friday to see Captain America: Civil War. Back in Canada, it only would have set me back $11. The exchange rate is currently £1 = $1.86.
