*pokes head into forums looking for his yearly minecraft fix*

Hi! I've been gone since 1.8ish, and i'm kind of itching to get back on a server with all the friendly faces here. Any chance I could nab an invite once the server is back up, please? MC name should just be Ceiran_ .

I've also started to set up shop on Tuck's server.

I see there is a new world on the Realm anyway, just logged on for the first time since it went down.

I'm a general Yay. Though I really really really (really) want a copy of the Realms Map file thingie. I did put a lot of work in on my builds and would like a copy for posterity and so I don't feel like I lost all that work. I'd also like to be able to see everything people built there too! Everyone did good work!

I wouldn't mind a new map. I don't feel like I have the soul to try to rebuild ALL my builds. A new map means I won't be tempted to rebuild the same stuff.

I also don't even know if I could rebuild everything I built in one week, even with creative! :)

If we're doing a new map, can I suggest a seed of "THERPSTON"? It's a decent Spawn with a Ice Plains and Mesa both within 1000 blocks.

So did Tuck take his down now that Realms is up, or is it just server troubles? I'm never going to get anything built or even planned if the geography keeps changing on me!

UPDATE:
Ok, it seems like a unanimous "yay" to resetting the Realm. The previous world WILL NOT be deleted, but a new world will be created. The old world will no longer work properly with Realms, but I will work on downloading a copy of it to give to those who want it. I will be using "THERPSTON" as the seed unless there are any objections. Also, Ceiran_ you have been invited to the server. Hopefully this one works. *Fingers crossed*

Mine is just down temporarily while I sort out something with the hosting place. It shouldn't take too long.

So, the spigot server is now back up 198.50.133.112, and there is also a dynmap at http://198.50.133.112:8123/.

FYI, we mapped out the size of spawn. Any spawn builds should be kept within that area.

To be clear, would folks be okay with me streaming/recording while playing on the realm? If anyone isn't, but most are, I can avoid streaming/recording either while specific people are on or steer clear of any builds or areas claimed by those who aren't cool with it. If most aren't, I can just stream/record in SSP worlds. =)

I have no problem with that. I'm not even worried if you capture my banality on stream.

I gave the terraforming of the spawn edge a start. Not great, but something for someone to work with anyway. Maybe someone can make it look better and more natural.

Your favorite builder with no sense of direction has gotten a strict upgrade. I have no idea what I'm doing yet, but I'm (one of) your god(s) now!

Who started building the Wall in spawn? A bunch of us are trying to figure out who built it, and what to do with it.

I believe it was Myshpoetry who started working on the wall, then I kind of took it over, developing the current design and building the one side that's currently mostly complete.

Ah. There's been discussion on the server on whether or not to keep it, and none of us wanted to do anything with it until we knew whose it was.

So Exachix said. I'll hold off adding any more to it for now, knowing that there's some debate about it, though for my part I like the idea of having a wall around spawn. I don't think I'm alone, and I won't speak on anyone's behalf. If the consensus is that it isn't wanted around spawn, I'll probably build something of the sort somewhere else, and welcome any help I can get.

Just came across a pregenerated mine that generated largely above ground on one of the mesa islands at 5807,2554. Is that a thing added in one of the newest versions, or a world generation goof?

New feature.

Also, thanks to whoever enabled PVP. Now we can use Elytra Bows, and it's so fun.

I didn't think PVP was supposed to be enabled, but yeah, it totally is.

So since the overall consensus from everyone I spoke to about the wall seems to have been in favor of it, I resumed work on it. I have now, of course, reached the high corner, and I'm trying to determine the best approach.

Option 1: Keep the wall level

Option 2: Have the wall rise with the slope:

Option 3: Terraform - no screenshots of this one, since it's much more work to undo.

So, thoughts? Or if you'd rather just cast a vote, here's a strawpoll.

How much longer are we getting Creative? I thought we were losing that ability weeks ago.

Looks like the subscription has lapsed again. I think it is under ClenchEastwood currently, anyone know if it is a possibility to transfer a realm? I'd be willing to take it up and pay for it (with maybe some contributions from friendly folks every now and then) if it would mean it wouldn't seem to lapse every few months.
