Ask Alex and Paul LIVE (PAX West 2017 replacement edition)

Postby Paul » 02 Sep 2017, 11:53

Hey folks,

Alex and I are going to be doing some live Q&A at 3:00 PDT on our twitch channel. We will be taking questions from the chat, but if you want to make sure we don't miss your question or if you have a question that require a bit more explanation, put it in this thread.

We will try to answer all questions with the care and attention they deserve.

Cheers,
Paul

1) How are you guys doing?

2) Are there any changes to things like Twitch you Youtube you'd like to see?

3) There's a thread on r/games about Day 2 of PAX ( https://www.reddit.com/r/Games/comments ... iscussion/ ), and the comments so far are about PAX not being as good as it used to be. As people who didn't go this year, what are your thoughts? How have you seen PAX changed over the last # of years? What do you think should be different?

Now that you've moved:I think a lot of fans would consider the Delta Era streams/content pretty great overall. Is there anything you would consider particularly successful from your time there? Anything you might have done differently in hindsight?

Are there any TV Shows/music/other media you are excited about right now?

How is your day?

Dear Dr Paul

What does Alex's shirt smell like?

Dear Dr Alex

Was it weird when Paul just leaned over and smelled your shirt?

What is one of the best changes each of you have seen or experienced due to James becoming full time LRRer?

After dealing with the likely re-organization since the move and addition of a third studio, do you have any tips, suggestions, or recommended products for others in better organizing a computer or gaming array & collection, or just organization in general?

So... maybe a little silly, but I've been wondering... what's up with the walls in the new Moonbase? Are they going to remain unpainted? I noticed during the IKEA build stream, as well as during the most recent YouTube update.

(I don't think it's a bad look, just wondering)

Dear Dr Paul and Dr Alex,

Can you see yourselves doing a sequel series to Things on My Head but as a two person team with the shared challenge of balancing single but longer objects between two heads?

Dear Dr's Lrr, if you got an invincibility power up (like the stars in mario) what song would you want playing while you were an invincible rainbow man?

To Paul: I have noticed you have been absent from conventions the last couple years. Is it because you are not a big fan of conventions or are you just the only poor soul who can run the Moonbase solo?

Dear Dr Paul, with other members of the Lrr crew running personal streams and/or vlogs, have you considered streaming/vlogging yourself?

Also, not so much a Q to be A, but thanks for the streams during PAX. As someone who has wanted to for the last few years, it often feels like all the cool kids are there, and it's nice for something to be going on.

Dear Dr. LRRs,

Do you have any suggestions for New/Current sketch comedy to watch, either on tv, streaming, or Youtube?

Dear Drs LRR (specifically Alex)

Are there plans to do the new Life is Strange on Talking Simulator?

Dear Drs Paul and Alex,

My parents owe me a fairly significant amount of money. I saw "owe" because they made it very clear that it was a loan and they've given me multiple deadlines that they promised to fulfill. Long story short, it's been three years and I haven't seen a cent. Is there any safe way to broach this subject with my parents or should I just write off that money as gone forever?
It's all over but the crying. And the taxes.

Q: Is Moonbase Mk V large enough to host an annual gaming marathon for charity?

Q: What is something you recently learned about another LRR member that you did not know before?

Somewhat complicated, but: If you had a very specific time machine, that could send you to the very first public showing of any film you wanted, to see it with people who had no idea what was coming, what film would it be?

And Bonus Q: Would you want to have your knowledge of the film wiped before seeing it?

Alex, are you and Graham ever going to run a 'revenge of Alex' style stream where you put Graham through terrible games/similar?

Paul, I miss your old solo streams, I realise how LRR run streams has changed since then but some of the things you talked to chat about were super helpful and the streams were a highlight when I could catch them - do you have any plans to solo stream again? If not, even though it's late, thank you for those streams.

Hi big fan, anyways, do you think Wizards of the Coast will make a Canadian inspired set for magic the gathering. And what would the new abilities be?

I've usually found most music that LRR and LRR related folk have played to be quite enjoyable.
I tried Birthday Massacre after being a witness to Alex's t-shirt and his talk about it after getting the t-shirt and/or after getting from a concert from them? I don't remember exactly when. But my actual question is:
What is your two's Favorite/one of your most liked bands/musicians?

Do you guys foresee a possible multi-person watch+play in the future, where maybe Alex might get to inflict games on others as "Revenge"? Or maybe other people taking over the stream for the week/a guest, somewhat like when Ben came with his arcade games? I really liked the Beej stream and would like to see more peoples position on "Bad" games, as we all know there's the occasional surprise.

I know you can't go into specifics, but how do you pay the contractors? For example did Ian get paid for his 24 hour LRR Mans?

Why DB2017 and not DB 11. Also husband wants to know if the "do not touch button" still exists and if it is gone will paul set it up again?
